Chernushenko - S. Slonimsky - Virieya - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Dmitri Shostakovich's Symphony No. 8 in C Minor, Op. 65 performed by the Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra and Valeri Sobolev with Yevgeny Mravinsky conducting.

With compositions of sophistication, iridescence in the timbres, a collective power in their playing, an orchestral dynamic, and a fluidity of architectures, this is a group of extreme musicality, mobility, and plasticity.
