Chic - Greatest Hits Live At Paradiso - VINYL LP

The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw (JOC) is one of the world's great jazz ensembles. I've known some of these musicians since the late '90's. But I'd never worked with the whole JOC until January 2020. Then Juan Martinez, JOC artistic director (and baritone saxophonist), emailed me. He proposed that I write an album's worth of music for the band, featuring all their soloists. After many more months of Zoom rehearsals (ugh!), scheduling delays, and even more Zoom (ugh!) we got into the studio in Hilversum for three intense days last November. (Jim McNeely)

Limited vinyl LP pressing. Les Plus Grands Succès de Chic Chic's Greatest Hits a.k.a. The Best of Chic is a greatest hits album by American R&B band Chic, released on Atlantic Records in late 1979, including the biggest hits from their first three albums Chic (1977), C'est Chic (1978) and Risqué (1979). The seven-track album, which omits the 1979 hit single InchMy Forbidden LoverInch and replaces it with InchChic CheerInch and also combines three 7-inch edits and one extended 12-inch mix with three album versions, was the only compilation to be released during the band's six years on Atlantic and reached #88 on the US charts and #30 in the UK in early 1980.

On their 20th anniversary (that's a good hook to sell a tour livestream, right?), they finally return with their fifth full-length album, Tonic Immobility [Ipecac], in 2021. The guys-guitarist Duane Denison [the Jesus Lizard, Unsemble, etc.], vocalist Mike Patton [Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Fantômas, etc.], drummer John Stanier [Helmet, Battles, etc.], and bassist Trevor Inchfield mouseInch Dunn [Mr. Bungle, Fantômas, etc.]-survey where they've come from only to leap ahead once more.
