Chor der Deutschen Oper am Rhein - 50 Years of the Deutsche Opera - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Multi-instrumentalist Markus Pfeffer (Lazarus Dream, Mystery Moon, Winterland) launches the third album of his Melodic Rock all-star project, Barnabas Sky. In keeping with tradition, Tyketto's Danny Vaughn again opens the album with the epic track InchThe Sign Of The Wolf.Inch He is represented with two songs, as are David Cagle (Silent Tiger) and Dirk Kennedy (Hittman). Tony Harnell (TNT) enhances the elegiac ballad InchThe Only WayInch with his unmistakable voice, for which Heart Line keyboardist Jorris Guilbaud contributed a string arrangement. Lee Small (The Sweet/Lionheart) takes on the groovy InchLone Wolf,Inch which is reminiscent of old Queensryche, the Swede Conny Lind (Amaze Me) sings about social media on InchBook Of FacesInch and the title track is sung by the young up-and-coming talent Deibys Artigas (Preincarnation) from Venezuela, who doesn't have to hide behind his well-known colleagues with his distinctive voice and impressive vocal range. Pfeffer combines edgy guitar riffs, filigree solos and shimmering synthesizer sounds with catchy melodies and has several melodic rock earworms on the album, such as Inch Of A Star,Inch as well as overlong tracks such as the title track and the 9-minute epic track InchScirocco Sands.Inch The mastering by Rolf Munkes (Empire Studios) is responsible for the transparent and powerful sound, while the futuristic cover was created by Argentinian artist Nicolas Oliveros. Fifty years ago, Collegium Vocale Gent began a fantastic musical adventure that no one could ever have predicted. In this anniversary box, Philippe Herreweghe has selected the most beautiful Collegium recordings which have been released since he founded his own tag Phi together with Outhere in 2010. Masterpieces by Tomás Luis de Victoria, Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms and Antonín Dvorák have been brought together in an intoxicating selection in which the stunning artistic quality and versatility of Collegium Vocale Gent forms the starting point! Collegium Vocale Gent was founded in 1970 on Philippe Herreweghe's initiative by a group of friends studying at the University of Ghent. They were one of the first ensembles to use new ideas about baroque performance practice in vocal music. Their authentic, text-oriented and rhetorical approach gave the ensemble the transparent sound with which it would acquire world fame and perform at the major concert venues and music festivals of Europe, the United States, Russia, South America, Japan, Hong Kong and Australia. Since 2017 the ensemble runs it's own summer festival Collegium Vocale Crete Senesi in Tuscany, Italy. Album Tracks 1. Brahms Works for Choir and Orchestra 2. > 3. Schicksalslied, Op. 54 4.
