Christian Dillingham - Halcyon - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Floriaan Wempe - Flo's Flow [COMPACT DISCS] date 01/08/2013

Bassist Christian Dillingham has become a regular presence in Chicago's rich jazz community. On Cascades, Christian's quartet featuring saxophonist Lenard Simpson, guitarist Dave Miller, and drummer Greg Artry debuts with a confident and personal set of his original compositions.A native of Brookfield, Ohio, Dillingham has built a thriving classical career alongside his intuitive feel for nuance and improvisation in jazz. His parents spun jazz records around the house while his mother was an avid pianist who played Chopin and Debussy; the duality of this childhood experience left a deep impression on his music. Cascades is his first album as a bandleader.1. The Bottoms 5 252. Like No Other 5 223. South State Line Road 7 424. One Breath 6 225. Lost in Desolation 6 126. Homeostasis 6 237. No Froust 8 378. Viviane Goergen has not only made a name for herself with her recordings of Ernst Toch's piano works, among others, through far-sighted repertoire enrichment, but also with an interpretation concept that offered new approaches for interpreters as early as the 1980s through the use of meditation, autogenic and mental training, among other things, which also benefits her Schumann recording from 1988.
