About this product

In keeping with the fascinating rediscoveries of French music made by the Palazzetto Bru Zane, this programme of sacred music presents works by well-known composers such as Saint-Saens and Faure as well as lesser-known works such as the Kyrie by Clemence de Grandval and Charlotte Sohy, the Ave Maria by Leon Boellmann and Fernand de La Tombelle, and a Cantique de Jean Racine composed by the deeply religious Mel Bonis to a different text from that chosen by Faure, in memory of her deceased son edouard. Instruments were added ad libitum for performances in the most prestigious religious buildings to encourage performances of the said works in other places as well. Faure's Tantum ergo, for example, with organ, piano or harp and double bass, could be played in church, in concert, or at home. These discoveries are what make this programme so interesting, bringing the Choeur de Radio France together with vocal and instrumental soloists of the highest calibre under the expert direction of Christophe Grapperon. Album Tracks 1. Quam Dilecta Op. 148 for Four Voices with Harp Accompaniment 2. Missa Brevis for 2 Sopranos~Kyrie 3. O Salutaris Op. 37 Ad Libitum With Accompaniment for Organ, Violin and Harp 4. Remi Delangle - Poetiques de L'instant II - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

This second instalment of our long-term project Poétiques de l'Instant (Poetry of the Moment) combines two masterly string quartets with a range of other instrumental colours, unpublished transcriptions and first performances. Alongside the famous Quartet by Ravel, the Voce Quartet have commissioned a new quartet from Bruno Mantovani - his fifth - which develops around a crucial note in Ravel's Quartet. They have also drawn on the multiple talents of harpist Emmanuel Ceysson, who enhances the programme with a magical chamber transcription of Ravel's famous Mother Goose suite. For this arrangement, as well as for Ravel's equally superb Introduction and Allegro for septet, the Quatuor Voce are joined by three outstanding artists flautist Juliette Hurel, clarinettist Rémi Delangle and harpist Emmanuel Ceysson. Album Tracks 1. Quatuor 2. Ma Mère L'oye 3. Quatuor À Cordes No 5 (Création Mondiale) 4. Introduction Et Allegro

Choeur De Radio France Maitrise De Radio France Orchestre Philharmonique De Radio France Solistes - - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

For it's 28th edition in 2018, the Festival Présences of Radio France paid tribute to Thierry Escaich -one of the greatest French living composers. Composer, but also organist and improviser, Thierry Escaich does not dissociate the three aspects of his art, which allows him to mix in his concerts creation and interpretation in the most diverse combinations. Composer, but also performer, Thierry Escaich can reconnect with the great history of music by combining the two practices, and thus become the creator of his own compositions. A sought-after organist and guest of the most prestigious venues, he is naturally one of those who cross the boundaries between composition, improvisation and interpretation. InchLa Piste des chantsInch Biké hatali haku (InchCome on the trail of songsInch) It is with these words that a Navajo ritual begins. This is also how this piece for children's choir and orchestra begins. The InchVisions nocturnesInch are based on poetic texts inspired by the night of Good Friday and the Descent from the Cross by Rubens -the spiritual meaning of the painting, but also it's color variations. The orchestral basis of InchCrisInch is an ensemble formed by two percussionists and an accordion. The presence of a group of 8 cellos responds to the narrator and the possibility of a somber lyricism has emerged for this commemoration of a battle.

Orchestre Philharmonique De Radio France Rophe Choeur De Radio France Orchestre Du Conservatoire - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Pierre Henry, a supreme innovator in the field of sound aesthetics, opened the gates to many other musical universes through the applications of his technological research. Fascinated by Beethoven from an early age, he composed a InchTenth SymphonyInch InchIt's not the one Beethoven made sketches for,Inch he said. InchNor is it a synthesis of the nine. It is essentially a combinatorial work. It's also a tribute to the man who hoped to exceed the limits of the orchestra. Perhaps a way of painting my portrait (our portrait) through this music and the influence it has had on mine. It is a dreamlike, logical and respectful trajectory through what these symphonies contain and suggest. The work deliberately uses as Inchraw materialInch only notes, groups or motifs from the nine symphonies.Inch There are three electroacoustic versions, but it is the unpublished symphonic version that is presented here. It was premiered in November 2019 at the Cite de la Musique in the Philharmonie de Paris, by three orchestras, two choirs, and three conductors the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Orchestre du Conservatoire de Paris, the Choeur de Radio France and Le Jeune Choer de Paris under the direction of Pascal Rophe, Bruno Mantovani and Marzena Diakun. Album Tracks 1. Dixième Symphonie - Hommage À Beethoven-Allegro Con Brio 2. Dixième Symphonie - Hommage À Beethoven-Scherzo 3. Dixième Symphonie - Hommage À Beethoven-Allegro Molto 4. Dixième Symphonie - Hommage À Beethoven-Andante 5. Dixième Symphonie - Hommage À Beethoven-Rondo 6. Dixième Symphonie - Hommage À Beethoven-Presto 7. Dixième Symphonie - Hommage À Beethoven-Comme Une Fantaisie 8. Dixième Symphonie - Hommage À Beethoven-Finale
