Citizenfour - BLU-RAY

Blu-ray. In the years before Ronald Reagan took office, Manhattan was in ruins. But true art has never come from comfort, and it was precisely those dire circumstances that inspired artists like Jim Jarmusch, Lizzy Borden, and Amos Poe to produce some of their best works. Taking their cues from punk rock and new wave music, these young maverick filmmakers confronted viewers with a stark reality that stood in powerful contrast to the escapist product being churned out by Hollywood. Interviews with the aforementioned artists as well as Debbie Harry, Steve Buscemi, John Waters, John Lurie, Lydia Lunch, and Thurston Moore reveal how a group of young visionaries pooled their resources to birth a film movement that produced some of the most challenging art of the 20th century.

How did American politics get to be in the shape they're in, and what does it mean for the future of democracy? These are the kinds of questions Michael Moore's scathing and illuminating documentary tackles. In addition to examining the circumstances that led to Donald Trump becoming the 45th President of the United States, Moore also explores the issue of gun control as it relates to the survivors of 2018's school shooting in Parkland, Florida, and revisits the ongoing water crisis in his hometown of Flint, Michigan. 128 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English DTS HD 5.1 Master Audio; Subtitles English (SDH), Spanish, French.

Where to Invade Next is an expansive, rib-tickling, and subversive comedy in which Michael Moore, playing the role of invader, visits a host of nations to learn how the U.S. could improve it's own prospects. The creator of Fahrenheit 9/11 and Bowling for Columbine is back with this hilarious and eye-opening call to arms. Turns out the solutions to America's most entrenched problems already exist in the world they're just waiting to be co-opted.
