On his long-awaited follow-up to his critically lauded 1996 Criss Cross debut, Penn's Landing (CRC 1134), and the equally powerful Play-Penn(CRC 1201), from 2001, master drummer-percussionist Clarence Pennpresents Dali in Cobble Hill, a meditation on how the iconic Surrealist painter might have digested a stroll through Penn's Brooklyn neighborhood.The eight originals and two standards incorporate a variety of moods, flavors, and strategies that reflect Penn's extensive activity as a sideman for jazz' best-and-brightest over the past decades; his ensemble of grand master generational contemporaries Chris Potter on tenorsaxophone and bass clarinet, Adam Rogers on guitar, and Ben Street on bass inhabit the stories, playing with deep imagination and virtuosic craft.

Newly Remastered - Full booklet with lyrics - South African melodic rock group Stingray was formed in early 1979 with founder members Dennis East (vocals). Mike Pilot (guitars and vocals), Eddie Boyle (bass guitar), Danny Antill (keyboards), Alan Goldswain (keyboards) and Shaun Wright (drums) signing to David Gresham Records they recorded their debut album simply entitled InchStingrayInch. Produced by the legendary Julian Laxton the album contained songs written by the band including the local and international hit InchBetter The Devil You KnowInch as well as standalone tracks such as InchThe Man In My ShoesInch, InchHow MuchInch, InchBreakdownInch, InchGonna Keep My Head TogetherInch, InchLovesaverInch, LucyInch and more. The band toured throughout the late 70's in to the early 80's whereas a five piece (minus keyboardist Alan Goldswain) they recorded their second album InchOperation StingrayInch with all songs once again written by the band. Following this a change in lineup took place where bassist Eddie Boyle was replaced by Gerald InchJiggs' Downing and drummer Shaun Wright by Wally Cullis. The group eventually split up in 1982 where Dennis East returned to his solo career as solo artist, songwriter and producer with David Gresham Records.
