Cold in Berlin announce their fifth album Wounds - their most eclectic and ambitious work to date.Wounds is the band's long-awaited fifth album - their first in six years. As heavy as it is haunting, the record masterfully blends doom, post-punk, and driving krautrock in a dynamic, hypnotic maelstrom - pushing London's most exciting cult band into intoxicating new territory.First single Hangman's Daughter leads the charge. Opening with a hypnotic techno bassline, the song quickly gives way to post-punk guitars, huge choruses, and vocalist Maya's magnetic storytelling.Wounds was recorded by Mike Bew, on location at Foel Studio. The band could be found working deep into the witching hours, experimenting with new sounds and filling the valleys with cantankerous wails of sound, bursting from amps borrowed from My Bloody Valentine.Synths on the album are arranged by Berlin-based Bow Church, an influential figure in the dark electronic scene and a longtime collaborator of the band. His work weaves icy and atmospheric textures into the songs, layering complexity that demands repeat listens. The synth led track They Reign captures the band nestled comfortably between Kate Bush and Neu!While meticulously crafted, Wounds captures the visceral energy of Cold in Berlin's renowned live shows. The album's arrangements and raucous sound remain true to the unrelenting intensity and atmosphere of their stage performances - every track retains the sweat, urgency, and immediacy of a band performing in the moment.Featuring free-jazz brass sections on the audacious punk rock track 12 Crosses, off-beat structures in the blackened I Will Wait, and the poetic closer Wicked Wounds, and soaring synths on the electro doom of The Stranger, Wounds is the band's most ambitious yet.A1. 2014 album from the Punk trio. Violation Wound was born in a beer and whiskey soaked basement in June of 2013, driven by the desire to rip out a dose of 100% real Punk Rock. Nothing trendy, nothing wimpy, nothing pretentious, just quick-fire face melters fueled by aggression and kick ass riffs that burrow into your skin. Violation Wound is not interested in the modern, plastic or safe crap that passes off as punk in these dismal days where haircuts and image are the main focus. Brothers Born is Joel Stroetzel (Killswitch Engage) and Michael Wyzik (Storm the Ohio). The project is a big departure from the metal of Stroetzels Killswitch Engage or the indie-americana of Wyziks bands, occupying a musical middle-ground of sorts. Wyzik and Stroetzel play nearly every note on Knife Wounds, with the exception of some background vocals and drums on two tracks. The duo recorded the record in Stroetzels Easthampton, MA studios. Son Lux is the grand genre-less dream of Los Angeles composer Ryan Lott brought to roiling, vivid life with the help of two New Yorkers, guitarist Rafiq Bhatia and drummer Ian Chang. Each is a writer, producer, and performer with omnivorous taste and a penchant for wild improvisation-a band whose mix of electronic pop, unusual soul, and outright experimentalism feels more inviting than ever on the project's fifth album, Brighter Wounds. The songs therein leave behind Son Lux's typically universal themes for deeply personal fare. While making Brighter Wounds, Lott became a father to a baby boy and lost a best friend to cancer. Days of InchfirstsInch were also days of Inchlasts,Inch and the normal fears that accompany parenthood were compounded by a frightening new reality-Lott's son arrived shortly after Election Day.
