A few years have passed since their last album for DAIS, but Los Angeles-based Cold Showers steadily returns to the tag's roster with their third album, Motionless, wielding a more developed pop sound that is familiar to followers, yet more sophisticated and evolved than their previous works. Having traversed the realm of synth-laced post punk expertly for close to a decade, their return with the new album Motionless is a process-based album that reaches into the band's collective quiver, melding their familiar anthem infused post-punk and rich, grand pop influences. Motionless is Cold Showers looking inward and taking control of their creative process, while retaining all of their unique songwriting signatures. Recorded in their own studio in Los Angeles with band member Chris King at the production helm, each selection on Motionless sounds like a line drawing that quickly becomes a technicolor collage of crashing shoegazed reverberation. As compared to their previous endeavor, Matter of Choice, the similar additions of arpeggiated electronics and more recently, string arrangements, adds a new, more sophisticated depth to Cold Showers' already dense allegories. Tracks such as InchShineInch and InchFaithInch stand on their own as heavy-hearted melodies that have an almost InchclassicInch impression after only one listen. The band's cover of Sandy Rogers' 80's ballad InchBlack SidewalkInch (only available on the LP & CD) offers proof-of- concept, never fully comfortable with their formula and challenging themselves as to what defines an amazing song. InchMeasured ManInch and InchDismissInch have Cold Showers orbiting in the palpitations of early Factory Records and present each spin with tactical layering, rather than flooding the board. After the of Motionless, Cold Showers returned to studios of KXLU 88.9 FM to take part in yet another Part Time Punks session. For this performance, Cold Showers mix up new versions their latest singles, InchShineInch and InchFaithInch, coupled with familiar portrayal of the 2015 single InchPlantlifeInch. Adding to the session are new live studio versions of InchWhatever You WantInch and InchOnly HumanInch, both featured on Cold Showers sophomore album, Matter of Choice. 07.13.19 Part Time Punks cassettes were printed with a single color risograph technique, an environmentally friendly stencil duplicator that uses soy- based ink and rice paper sheets to produce unique prints. Printed onto uncoated vellum Bristol paper, allowing the print to be fine to the touch and reminiscent of a silk screen process with a Xerox feel.

1982 third & best selling album from the Cleveland soul/funk group Dazz Band. Bobby Harris formed the group in the late '70s, merging two Cleveland funk bands, Bell Tele funk and Mother Braintree. Harris and lead songwriter/guitarist Mike Calhoun's concept for the group was Inchdanceable jazzInch; he shortened the description to InchdazzInch and called the group Kinsman Dazz. The Kinsman Dazz became the Dazz Band in 1980. They had their first hit with InchShake It UpInch in 1980. We called the third album InchKeep it liveInch', Bobby Harris says, because if it didn't happen we'd be gone from Motown. I said 'We've got to stay positive. That became the theme of the record. We were on a mission. We weren't going to validate who we were until we had a dance hit'. That turned out to be InchLet it WhipInch, 'which Reggie wrote with West Coast percussion great Leon 'Ndugu' Chancler, introducing a high-tech funk groove that would be the sound of choice for the era'. Includes their breakthrough hit InchLet It WhipInch - which reached No. 1 (and stayed there for 5 weeks) on the R&B charts and No 5. in the USA HOT 100. In 1983 Dazz Band won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. The follow up single was 'Keep it live (On the K.I.L.)' and peaked at No. 20 in the R&B single charts. The highest position of the album Keep it live was No. 1 in the US R&B album Chart and # 14 in the US 200 Album Chart. Includes an exclusive bonus track 12 Inch Mix!
