Philadelphia band Stereo League has always been about discovering new genres and working with artists who can bring unique sensibilities to their music. On their latest EP Endless Mirage, the band, comprised of boyhood friends Alex Savoth and Dan King, collaborated with the Synth & Soul record tag and production crew Eraserhood Sound. The result is a timeless, shimmering collection of songs which tell evocative tales of loneliness and longing, set against the backdrop of Eraserhood Sound's signature analog production. Stereo League, who have been named Artist to Watch by NPR station WXPN, believe this to be the clearest and best representation of their vision to date, delivering the soulful sound they have been searching for. Lead single InchMoney In Your MouthInch is a force to be reckoned with, featuring pulsating InchSuperflyInch-esque drums and percussion, electrifying synthesizer stabs, and a powerful lyric from lead singer Savoth. Follow up single InchMiss MeInch is a tough as nails r&b burner, and features Saundra Williams (Mavis Staples, Saun & Starr, The Resonaires) providing background vocals that are as sweet as honey. Look for Stereo League to be performing their new EP in Philadelphia and beyond in the coming year, as well as their first 7Inch vinyl courtesy of Eraserhood Sound in 2022.

Vinyl LP pressing. Since 2013, Danish quartet Kalaha's multi-award-winning sound has been characterised by a melting pot of worldwide musical cultures including Brazilian Samba, Anatolian rock, African highlife, desert blues and contemporary western electronic music, resulting in acclaim from critics and vinyl connoisseurs alike. Their sixth album 'Nord Havn' is set for on April Records. The record follows on from their 2022 'Tutku', a collaboration with the Aarhus Jazz Orchestra and vocalist Hilal Kaya celebrating the sound of Turkish music in the 70's. The band's new album marks a conscious return to their early sound of an instrumental quartet. Recorded over two snowy weeks in December in the outer banks of Nordhavn - Copenhagen's old industrial harbour - through their collection of nine original compositions Kalaha pays tribute to their hometown, and to the memory of a rapidly gentrifying area of their city. Using the harbour as a metaphor for a portal to the rest of the world, the ensemble's trademark wide array of influences remains at the foundation of their sound; psychedelic rock, acid techno, surf rock, the Indian classical drone of a tanpura, dub, 70's fusion and more come together in surprisingly effortless harmony. Squelching synthesisers, pulsing delays, field recordings and immersive production amplify the already energetic sound of the live quartet into something larger than life and undeniably modern. While the record fluidly ushers the listener through Kalaha's wealth of danceable grooves and catchy worldly melodies, a more careful listen will reveal the skilled jazz musicianship, adept improvisations, experienced songwriting and rich harmonic palette residing subtly underneath.

There's liberation on the dance floor in the songs of Matthew Urango - glimpses of revolution that glimmer beneath the disco ball. InchI want my music to bring people together,Inch says the Californian pop innovator, best known as Cola Boyy. InchBecause standing together is our best chance at fighting this S**t show.Inch The S**t show in question is a broken system the acclaimed multi-instrumentalist has witnessed up-close. Urango was born with spina bifida and scoliosis in Oxnard, California a town in which almost 30,000 are estimated to live in poverty. Prosthetic Boombox, his eagerly awaited debut album, might at first glance seem a joyous confetti-burst of pop eclecticism, engineered to sound like Inchscanning between stations on a car radio, landing on all these different sounds and stylesInch as Urango puts it. Dig deeper, though, and you'll discover a simmering sense of rebellion. InchThe working class are injured, struggling to pay rent and struggling to put food on the table,Inch he says. InchI want to represent that.Inch Prosthetic Boombox achieves that goal in a thrilling flurry of inventive indie, funk and soul take Urango's car radio analogy, place it in a time-travelling Delorean with Prince in the passenger seat, and you're half-way there. Look no closer than Prosthetic Boombox's euphoric opener, the Avalanches-assisted 'Don't Forget Your Neighborhood.' The track - which Urango says mixes Inchthe Beach Boys, French disco, house keys and ragtime piano, kinda like the Cheers soundtrack!Inch - ends with lyrics urging listeners to Inchfight for your town with your fist closed, strike it and make it more than just a memory.Inch It's a reminder that the working classes need to Inchturn our fists against our oppressors instead of each other,Inch he explains. Urango saves his most introspective moment for the album's starry closer. 'Kid Born In Space', a cosm
