About this product
2015 album from the Stockholm sludge trio. On the Breathing World, Colossus delivers a technical yet catchy groove with equal parts brains and heart. With their headstrong, playful and completely uncompromising music, the band have created their own personal path through the heavier rock terrain and won over the underground and critics alike. The band follows their past success with their most ambitious and personal yet in the Breathing World. Recorded in Big Island Sounds together with producer Tom van Heesch (Rammstein, Michael Monroe, Backyard Babies) the album takes off where Wake ended and follows the protagonists crooked journey to clarity in a surreal and mysterious but deeply human world. With a heavier production, more experimentation and esoteric song structures the band sounds more confident than ever before and delivers a mature and coherent piece that will captivate old fans and attract many new listeners.

Yes, Sisters and Brothers - what you are about to hear on this album is pure and honest music with lots of joy and happiness. Just the way it should be, but seldom is. It's perfectly clear when you hear Sweet Emma & the Mood Swingers that they love what they do. And believe me - a grey-haired and likewise grey-bearded music journalist that's seen and heard the most - there is nothing that can beat experienced artists when they put their hearts into a performance. I can assure you; Sweet Emma and her groovy Mood Swingers know exactly what they are doing. They keep the melodies in focus and the harmonies in total control, which means the chord changes are solid as a rock and the improvisations soar with creativity and personality. There is no doubt that they pour their hearts into their music. And, last but absolutely not least, they know how to swing!

True to their name, this powerful trio performs a headstrong, burly Metal with roots deep in the impenetrable mire of the Stoner/Doom/Sludge tradition nuanced with streaks of Progressive Rock and Psychedelia. A wide blend of influences are entwined and results in an accomplished and coherent music that is as direct and powerful as it is multi layered and meandering. Names that are commonly mentioned in relation to Colossus are Mastodon, Neurosis, Kyuss and Tool to name a few.
