My recent purchase of the HP Victus gaming laptop was a bargain at Best Buy. I caught it on sale for $499. That was an amazing $400 savings. The laptop only came with only 8 GB of DDR4, PC 3200 ram. I purchased this memory because it perfectly matched the type and speed of memory in my new laptop. I opened the laptop and installed this memory before I even turned it on for the first time the difference between having 8 GB of memory, and 32 GB of memory is dramatic, especially when multitasking if your laptop uses DDR 4 RAM at 3200 speed, I highly recommend this purchase. I caught the memory on sale for $29 per module. This was a bargain upgrade, since I could install it myself. Thank you, Best Buy.

It's was the best price in town, and I believe it was on sale for 17 or 18.99, but nothing makes me like a kid in the candy store as Best Buy does, it's very hard on me because being on social security disability the past decade makes it so i really have to watch my budget. Yet in Best buy, I'll go from aisle to aisle, checking prices on USB drives to SD cards to USB that accept micro SD, to turn around and longing drive towards the SSD internal and external drives by route of the cell phones which usually means a must to headphones and speakers. However, if I'm going to entertain such thoughts i might as well see. If there are any laptops that are open box, and *sigh* l go around soaking up all the best deals, but knowing that if I'm going to get another one of those items or a big ticket item, I have to plan and save. And saving is very hard on 960$ a month. On this fine occasion my efforts, of my there and back again excursions through the plaza of Best Buy were rewarded! So very rarely do I get such a treat as I did on this day, it brought me to tears. The 8GB I had purchased online for what came to 21.23 after tax I believe, I may be wrong, however I know I'm close because I remember. I remember heading for the door from the pick up window by the registers. I had gotten an auction online for a laptop, a Dell Latitude 5470 i7 9th generation but it was a barebones system, and other than the blink code asking for ram, and I had checked that it needed DDR4, I didn't yet know the machine. I had picked a 512 SSD sata, luckily on FB marketplace, so check. All I need was the RAM and then the OS install, and I could put my audio software on the machine to make music on the newer DAWs and that constitutes one of the expensive things I own. I haven't been using the software for some time because I haven't had a machine powerful enough to handle it and now after months of planning of careful plotting and deal checking. The laptop itself has cost me 10 $, the ac adapter another 7.99 $, SSD 20 $, and now 21$ for the ram on this fateful trip. Of course, in due course I shall want a midi controller for Fruity Loops and a sampler of some sort which means a microphone. But my system was nearly complete! And low and behold, I check the RAM on the shelf and with a practiced eye start my analysis. Surely not! There must be a mistake! A 16 GB chip, on sale , DDR 4..... 34$?? It can't be I would have noticed! Not that it matters, when when I order the 8 GB I barely had enough! yet by some confluence of reality... I had taken in some recycling before I had come to Best Buy, think maybe I might get a pop or something, yet sure I had in my hand enough if I returned the 8gb and exchanged it for the 16. And so I did. Surprised and delighted I was I threw caution to the wind and decided to start the OS install on the bus using the 128gb micro SD card in the USB to USB C SD and micro SD card adapter both of which I got and have had since Anchorage, and to my delight the latitude turns out to be a touchscreen. And as yet another unlooked for treat as if it could get no better, my mother as a surprise orders me the 8gb chip on sale! Knowing I can't usually afford it and that music software is demanding, well by the end of this Best Buy adventure, I had an i7 2.6GHz, touchscreen no less, with a jaw dropping 24 GB of unexpected RAM, 512 GB of SSD storage, with my software onboard. What next?? Well I guess my sights shall be, I'm thinking either a novation midi keyboard controller or Akai sampler with 25 keys, though. I must confess, I do not know how I'll be beat this day described. This handsome Latitude came out costing under 80$. That's right, a touchscreen i7 with 24 gb of RAM.. under 80$. If you can beat that, my hats off to you! But I doubt you'll have as much fun as I did in the unexpected construction of my box. Thanks Best Buy, we all need tech store days like this one
