Cottontail - DVD

Oscar and Golden Globe-nominee James Caan ("Misery," "The Godfather") stars as a one-time basketball star who finds the realities of life are tougher than those on the playing field. Based on the brilliant novel by John Updike and featuring a superb supporting cast. Co-starring Oscar and Emmy-winner Jack Albertson ("Chico and the Man"), Arthur Hill ("The Champ"), Oscar-nominee Carrie Snodgrass ("Diary of a Mad Housewife"), and Ken Kerch

Thorton Wilder's touching story of life in a New Hampshire town stars William Holden and Martha Scott as a young couple looking to the future. Six Oscar nominations went to director Sam Wood's version of this Pulitzer Prize winning drama, including one for Best Picture, and one for Aaron Copland's original score. Also, look for two of Hollywood's great character performers, Guy Kibbee and Beulah Bondi as Mr. And Mrs. Webb, and Thomas Mitchell as good ol' Doc Gibbs! Newly restored in HD.

Industrialist Cornelis van Doorn (Kees Brusse) got so filthy rich because he wasted nothing... as demonstrated by how he turned the animal hormone waste from his slaughterhouses into a side business of birth control pills. The time came, though, when he had to choose a successor from amongst his kids, legitimate or otherwise-and the only competent candidate (Rudolf Lucieer) was cursed with ethics. Sexy satire co-stars Andrea Domburg, Hugo Metsers, Sonja Barend. 107 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack Dutch; Subtitles English; audio commentary; bonus short InchFestival of LoveInch (1969); image gallery; theatrical trailers. In Dutch with English subtitles.
