A: My understanding is you can use tap water unless you have very hard water. Then it is best to use filtered water or distilled water. I have been using a water purifier from my sink and it works fine. So it really depends on the condition of your water. I suppose if you have a good water softener for the whole house it would be ok too. But if you see any particles floating in the air (other than the water vapor emitted) after using the humidifier, you would want to switch to distilled water. Hope this helps.
