A: I'd buy him a cheaper model like the Ender 3 series or similar. Unless he has unlimited funds for tinkering. That all depends on how much aptitude he has for this type of thing, Only you and/him can answer that. But, Creality makes printers for tinkering. If he doesn't mind doing that & knowing that Creality has a bad track record thus far with spotty CS, poor QA at the factory & they break more than other comparable competition then that's the risk worth taking, I don't care what Creality says...they are not marketing this printer for an unbox & go type of user. And I own Crealities. If I had the money I'd go with one the Bambu Labs offerings since I just want to unbox & print. I'm not a tinkerer.
