Cursebinder - Drifting - VINYL LP

ADULT. Have been stalwarts of national independent music for almost two decades, releasing their perfectionist hybrid of darkwave and synth-pop with respected labels Thrill Jockey, Kill Rock Stars, Ghostly International and, most recently, Mute. The soundscapes this Detroit duo sculpts by synthesizer stabs and sparse drum machine rhythm are icy, dense and precise. This showcases the group in rare form, complete with the totally unexpected and kind of jarring sound of raucous audience laughter in place of typical applause as the intro as well as a light audible fuzz created by the third member of the group that night, their fog machine ;)Best of all, two of the tracks, Misshaped and Does the Body Know?, make their premiere on this . ADULT. Have outlasted any number of micro-electronic music scenes with whom they could have been grouped and, with their live show down to a science, prove that they will be worth a damn for a long time coming.Packaging 12' full-color die cut jacket, standard weight vinyl

The music of Charles Tomlinson Griffes has a place in musicians', and especially pianists', hearts out of all proportion to it's quantity. Michael Lewin has recorded the complete piano music of Griffes on two CDs, of which this is the first. On this CD there are relatively familiar works, such as the Roman Sketches and Sonata, alongside yet-to-be published rarities, such as a charming transcription of Offenbach's Barcarolle, and a lovely Chopin like Prelude dating from the young composer's fifteenth year (he was to die, alas, only two decades later).

The uncompromising fusion of classic death metal and melody, as well as powerful riffs reminiscent of the old Gothenburg school, meet rousing grooves that invite you to bang your head. Imagine At the Gates, Dark Tranquillity, Morbid Angel, Obituary, Death and Carcass joining forces - fast, melodic, precise and deadly at the same time! Nevertheless, Helldrifter maintain a very good balance between heaviness and melody, as well as speed and groove. All songs convince with variety and skillfully chosen compositions. In parts, InchHelldrifter - Shell Of InexsistenceInch is reminiscent of classics like Death's Symbolic or The Sound of Perseverance - but fresh and not a dusty copy! Lyrically, InchShell Of Inex sistenceInch deals with dark and existentially threatening themes From the nuclear end of mankind, to the psychoanalysis of the human soul, to socially critical topics, such as wars and suicide. InchShell of InexistenceInch is not only a powerful musical statement, but also an intense lyrical work that delves deep into the abysses of the psyche and society.InchShell Of InexsistenceInch was recorded, produced and mixed under the direction of Roland Böffgen and Helldrifter at Hard Drive Sound Studios in Stuttgart. The guitar and bass tracks were recorded under the direction of Vasilis Monopoulos in the band's own studios. The final Polish and mastering was carried out by Kai Stahlenberg at Kohlekeller Studio in Seeheim-Jugenheim. Giannis Nakos (Remedy Design), who has already created the artwork for Suffocation, Morbid Angel, Cryptopsy and The Crown, among others, was commissioned with the visual realization. InchShell of InexistenceInch is a powerful statement in death metal that will captivate fans of the genre just as much as newcomers!
