Cracking Up is a crazy quilt of sight gags, one-liners, caricatures, slapstick and quirky vocal mannerisms. In short, it's marvelous mayhem of the kind which has gained Jerry Lewis admirers the world over. Lewis plays a hapless misfit who seeks psychiatric help after bumbling a suicide attempt. Dennis Quaid (The Right Stuff, The Parent Trap, The Day After Tomorrow) turns up the heat as rock 'n' roll wild man Jerry Lee Lewis in the high-energy biopic Great Balls of Fire! That's as electrifying as the music itself. With a career fueled by scandal, talent, and pure rebellious spirit, Lewis skyrocketed to fame only to risk it all with his shocking marriage to his 13-year-old cousin, played by Winona Ryder (Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, TV's Stranger Things). Directed by Jim McBride (The Big Easy, Breathless, David Holzman's Diary), this film captures the highs, the lows, and the controversy of a music legend who lived fast, played hard, and made history one fiery note at a time. Alec Baldwin (Malice, The Departed, Glengarry Glen Ross) co-stars alongside Lisa Blount (An Officer and a Gentleman, Prince of Darkness), Trey Wilson (Raising Arizona, Bull Durham), and John Doe (Road House, Boogie Nights). Rounding out the cast are Stephen Tobolowsky (Groundhog Day, Memento, Spaceballs), Michael St. Gerard (Hairspray) as Elvis Presley, Mojo Nixon (Rock 'n' Roll High School Forever, Super Mario Bros.), and Lisa Jane Persky (The Sure Thing, Coneheads). Featuring a rockin' soundtrack packed with Jerry Lee Lewis's greatest hits, Great Balls of Fire! #is a must-watch for fans of classic rock, music biopics, and wild true stories from the golden age of rock 'n' roll.
