Questions & Answers
Does this provide pure sine wave output from impure AC input (like a generator)
Answered by TechSupportHello, this is a line interactive, pure sinewave UPS. While operating in battery mode it will deliver pure sinewave power to the outputs. While operating in Line Mode, it will output whatever it is put in to it., it has an automated voltage regular to handle brownouts, surges and other voltage related events, but the unit is not equipped to deal with issues with the source waveform, such the dirty output of generator power. This model was designed to receive power from the utility grid and does not support generator use. Please look into double-conversion models of UPS for handline waveform issues.
Will this UPS cover the power consumption needs of a RTX5090 PC with a 1200 watt power supply? Specifically this PC https://skytechgaming.com/prebuilt-gaming-pc/st-legacy4-1598-b-al/legacy-4/r9-9950x3d-rtx-5090-32gb-64gb-2tb
Answered by TechSupportHello Tristen, Great question. The GX1500C2 would not be the ideal choice for a gaming PC with a 1200W power supply. While a computer does not constantly draw the full power supply rating, it's recommended to size a UPS with additional capacity to handle peak power demands and provide a safety margin. The GX1500C2 is rated for 1000W of output power, so it may be undersized for this system under heavy gaming or workload conditions. As a general guideline, we recommend selecting a UPS that provides at least 20% headroom above your expected maximum power draw. For this PC, we recommend using our UPS Product Selector and filtering for Sine Wave models in the 1500W-2000W output range to identify the most appropriate options for your setup. https://www.cyberpowersystems.com/tools/ups-selector/ Or give our sales dept. a call and they would be happy to go over options. 1.855.289.8177 Thank you for considering CyberPower!
