About this product

Damien Leith was one of the myriad young singers launched to success via the international television phenomenon Pop Idol. Born January 18, 1976, in County Kildare, Ireland, Leith spent his childhood in locales as far-flung as Libya and Botswana thanks to his father's work as an engineer. As a teen he and his siblings formed the band Leaf, later recording in New York City under the name Releaf. After marrying an Australian native, Leith relocated down under and fronted the band Revelate, which enjoyed a fervent fan following on the Sydney nightclub circuit. Leith was working as a chemist when friends convinced him to audition for the fourth season of network ten's amateur showcase Australian Idol in 2006. Selected as one of 24 finalists from a pool of over 25, 000 contestants, he won praise from the series judges for his distinctive falsetto. Upon signing to Son/BMG, Leith issued his debut single, InchNight Of My Life, Inch two days after the Australian Idol finale. The record debuted at number one and remained atop the aussie charts for four weeks, setting the stage for the LP the winner's journey, which spent a month at number one as well. Damien Leith has sold over 6 times platinum in since winning Australian Idol in 2006. Remember June is Damien's 3rd studio album and has been described as 'Roy Orbison' meets 'The Killers'. The album was written by Damien and produced by critically acclaimed international producer Stuart Crichton. (Kylie, Pet Shop Boys, Sugar Babes).

OGI - Monologues - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

These songs are my outlet to say what I really felt about something but didn't say because my feelings didn't fit the script, says OGI.InchI was afraid of looking cocky or unruly ('Looker') or being overly resentful ('Bitter') or too apathetic ('Let Me Go') or being too affectionate ('IKYK'). These are performances of songs by a person who feels like she's performed all her life. How meta. The most relatable thing about my experience is that I tried to be something that I'm not to fall in line with an internalized notion of myself. In other words, I performed the expectations that I was given. And everyone can relate to forgoing the fullest expression of themselves for the sake of the crowd -the audience. But now I'm putting myself display and staging those thoughts I never intended for people to hear. We love radical (maybe too specific) honesty.Inch Today, rising songstress OGI has unveiled her debut EP, MONOLOGUES. The project includes her debut single InchI Got ItInch which was produced by GRAMMY® Award-winner No I.D. (Jay-Z, Rihanna, Kanye West) and featured on Zane Lowe's World First on Apple Music. It also includes her second single InchEnvyInch which was accompanied by an official live performance videoshot on location at Seattle, WA's inspirational Chihuly Garden and Glass. TRACKLISTING 1. Let Me Go 2. Envy 3. I Got It 4. Follow Me 5. Bitter 6. IKYK.

Sviatoslav Richter - Richter Supreme: Richter at His Greatest - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Parnassus is proud to present a new collection of first commercial releases of spectacular live performances from pianist Sviatoslav Richter. Taken from recordings made by audience members and live broadcast sources, and now remastered and restored by Gene Gaudette of Urlicht Audiovisual, Richter Supreme is a must-have collection for Richter fans.Devotees of Richter know that even he had those supreme moments in which he exceeded his extremely high standards. When producer Leslie Gerber listened to the centerpiece of this recording, a recital at Hunter College, New York in 1965, he was convinced that this performance qualified as InchRichter SupremeInch. Throughout the performance of works by Schubert, Brahms, Debussy, Ravel, Prokofieff, and Rachmaninoff, the listener experiences Richter at the very height of his powers, technical prowess allied to the most penetrating musical interpretation. This concert may not introduce any new Richter repertoire, but gives us the opportunity to listen in on a master musician at the height of his powers.Completing the set are two further rarities a 1988 Tokyo performance of Hindemith's ferocious Suite '1922', which shows Richter bringing out all the music's challenging qualities, and building the finale to an apocalyptic frenzy unlike his earlier studio recordings, and an early 1958 Budapest broadcast of the Bartók Second Piano Concerto with the Hungarian State Orchestra under János Ferencsik.A treasurable document of greatness.
