Alto saxophonist Justin Robinson releases 'In The Spur Of The Moment' on WJ3 Records on November 20. 'In The Spur of the Moment,' produced by Willie Jones III, features Roy Hargrove (trumpet), Larry Willis (piano), Dwayne Burno (bass) and Jones (drums) - a group that has performed together in Hargrove's bands throughout the past ten years. Robinson, one of the finest jazz musicians today, has recorded and toured with renowned artists including the Harper Brothers, Cecil Brooks III, Abbey Lincoln, Diana Ross, Little Jimmy Scott, the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band, and the Dizzy Gillespie All Star Band. A member of The Roy Hargrove Big Band and the Roy Hargrove Quintet, Robinson has gained a following of jazz fans around the world.

A genre-defying performer, dedicated educator, and omnivorous listener, Dan DeChellis has lived his musical vision for over 40 years, leveraging strict classical training into deep-dive explorations of modern classical improvisation, free improvisation, jazz, rock, and ambient music. After nearly posting a solo piano improvisation every day on his Youtube channel for the first 6 months of the lockdown, Dan decided it was time for another proper solo record. His first was released 25 years ago on the Sachimay Records tag. Many things have changed since then. Dan has been a professor at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA for the past 16 years where he directs the Moravian Improvised Music Ensemble and teaches a required class on Improvisation. InchBreathe InInch was recorded all in one sitting and released in the order recorded. Beginning piano studies at age 7, Dan earned bachelors and masters degrees in piano performance from Appalachian State University and Duquesne University, then spent a year studying improvisation with Paul Bley and Ran Blake at the New England Conservatory of Music (NEC). In Boston and later New York, he released more than a half-dozen solo and group recordings on his own Sachimay Records tag; co-founded Brooklyn's Improvised and Otherwise Festival; performed at venues including the Knitting Factory, Tonic, CBGB's, and Sculler's Jazz Club; and collaborated with musicians including drummers Tatsuya Nakatani and Gerry Hemingway, saxophonists Bhob Rainey and Jack Wright, bassists Gene Perla and Reuben Radding, guitarists Philip Tomasic and Chris Forsyth, and the trio Chainworks with electronics player Brian Moran and percussionist Matt Hannafin.

Awarded the title Young Steinway Artist in 2020, the Bulgarian pianist Marina Staneva received the 2019 Sam Hutchings Piano Prize and was a 2018 Britten-Pears Young Artist. She has been praised for her serious talent, outstanding musicianship, extraordinary instinctive artistry, and fine technical command. For this her début recording, she presents works by two contrasting Bulgarian composers. Pancho Vladigerov was arguably the most influential Bulgarian composer of all time. He was one of the first successfully to combine idioms of Bulgarian folk music and classical music. He was also among the founding members of the Bulgarian Contemporary Music Society (1933), which later became the Union of Bulgarian Composers. The British-Bulgarian composer Dobrinka Tabakova studied composition under Simon Bainbridge, Diana Burrell, Robert Keeley, and Andrew Schultz. Her composition Praise was sung at St Paul's Cathedral to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, and she has received commissions from the Royal Philharmonic Society, BBC Radio 3, Cheltenham Music Festival, Britten Sinfonia, Three Choirs Festival, Wigmore Hall, and, in 2014, the PRS Foundation's first UK New Music Biennial.
