Originally released in 1996 in Japan only, this six-track EP, LIVE AT THE JAZZ CAFE, LONDON was recorded in September '95 during a rare U.K. promo tour. This new of LIVE AT THE JAZZ CAFE, LONDON is not only the first domestic of the album, it contains the complete show for the first time anywhere. Now included are four unreleased performances three of them covers of tracks originally by D'Angelo influences Mandrill, Ohio Players and Al Green plus a longer version of 'Lady.' This edition also places all of the tracks in the correct sequence for the first time, as they were performed in a sweaty club when 'D' was on the cusp of stardom. The package uses the original cover artwork of the Japanese , but inside is an exclusive new essay by Alan Leeds, of D'Angelo's management team, who is also known for his tenure with artists ranging from James Brown to Chris Rock. Vinyl LP repressing of this 2000 album from the acclaimed Soul artist. Original artwork expanded to a gatefold tip-on jacket. New liner notes by Jason King, including interviews with Pino Palladino, Charlie Hunter, James Poyser, Alan Leeds, and Russ Elevado. Voodoo was the second album by D'Angelo and followed-up his hit album Brown Sugar. Recording sessions for the album took place during 1998 to 1999 at Electric Lady Studios in New York City, featuring an extensive line-up of musicians associated with the Soulquarians musical collective. Produced primarily by D'Angelo, Voodoo features a loose, groove-based funk sound and serves as a departure from the more conventional song structure of Brown Sugar.
