Dead Kosmonaut's founder Mattias Reinholdsson once described the band's sound by pointing out that the early metal bands had no restrictions on how their material should sound. InchThese were musicians who'd not grown up on metal music as it didn't exist,Inch he said, Inchso their take on it had many different facets and albums had acoustic songs, jazzy songs, bluesy songs, progressive songs... I want Dead Kosmonaut to be that sort of band, so that when you listen to one of our songs you don't really know what's coming next...Inch Dead Kosmonaut's second album 'Gravitas' certainly subscribes to that theory. The band serves up a variety of styles and song structures and displays such an array of influences as to keep even the most discriminating metal fan as happy as a dog with two tails. Such is their mastery. The Swedish band opened their account with 'Expect Nothing' in 2017, and followed it up with the 'Rekviem' mini-LP in 2019. With a settled line-up consisting of Mattias on bass, vocalist Pelle Gustafsson, guitarists Fredrik Folkare and Pär Fransson and drummer Henrik Johansson, Dead Kosmonaut are largely based in Stockholm. InchI have tried to put together a strong line-up for the band and I am confident that 'Gravitas' illustrates that. It's more of Dead Kosmonaut. It's wider and deeper. The heavy stuff is really heavy and the melodic stuff is even more melodic. InchWith 'Gravitas', once again I set out to create an album displaying a wide selection of hard rock and heavy metal songs. I was pleased with the way 'Expect Nothing' and the mini-LP came out, and I never thought of narrowing down the sound of Dead Kosmonaut; rather the opposite, in fact, as I wanted to put more facets and elements into it.Inch The dynamics of the songs also played their part in how 'Gravitas' finally appeared. Limited yellow colored vinyl LP pressing. In 1962, Gordon relocated to Paris, where he became part of a vibrant jazz community. He was already a well-established figure in the jazz world due to his groundbreaking work in the 1940s and 1950s. His decision to live in Europe revitalized his career, allowing him to continue evolving as a musician away from the struggles in the USA he enjoyed enormous respect in Europe, which allowed him to perform freely, often in clubs and on tours, without the burdens of American racism. Paris had long been a haven for jazz musicians artists like Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, and John Coltrane were celebrated in Europe, and the French jazz scene, in particular, became a hotspot for both American expatriates and European musicians. Dexter Gordon quickly became one of the leading figures in that scene. Our Man in Paris is a celebrated jazz album and it is widely regarded as one of Gordon's best works. It is considered one of Gordon's finest albums due to it's blend of bebop virtuosity, lyrical improvisation, and the tight interplay between world-class musicians a classic jazz record, beloved for it's authenticity and the inspired performances of Dexter Gordon and his ensemble. This album is now considered a classic in the jazz canon that's not only a remarkable album because of it's flawless execution and historical significance, but it also captures a pivotal moment in jazz history where American jazz musicians were embracing new experiences and sounds in Europe and captures the essence of Gordon's bebop roots while showcasing the influence of his time in Europe.

Daniel Brandt, co-founder of acclaimed German ensemble Brandt Brauer Frick, is set to his second solo album for London imprint Erased Tapes on October 12th. Titled Channels, the new record follows the of the London and Berlin based producer's solo debut Eternal Something from 2017. The seven-track LP is Brandt's biggest statement yet, with the album's thrilling avant-garde framework interweaving chord-driven techno, orchestral flourishes, rich electronic textures and hints of dark cinematic pop. Following on from Eternal Something, which captured a contemplative kind of isolationism, with Channels Brandt set out to create an album that captures the essence of minimalism whilst lending it to a more playful context. After performing and recording Steve Reich's Six Pianos in a group of six, Brandt began regularly composing long meditations on the piano, something that permeates the sound of the new record. It's frenetic energy and shape-shifting identity was also born out of touring with his new band Eternal Something - comprised of Brandt on piano, drums and synthesisers, Pascal Bideau on guitar and bass, plus Florian Juncker on trombone - and a desire to translate both the sound and spiritual unity of their live shows in which musicians locked together to create an intriguing meld of expansive works.2.
