Daniela Strakova - In the Tatras / South Bohemian Suite / Eight - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Kvapil is considered the finest exponent of Czech piano music.. a performer with such a specialized repertoire is often unfairly 'tagged' with the erroneous reputation of not playing anything else, and Kapil's present of three Beethoven piano sonatas will certainly correct that idea.

Radoslav Kvapil - Polkas Bagatelles & Impromptus [COMPACT DISCS] date 02/14/2012

This recital, released for the very first time on CD, is compiled from Dvorakova's rare studio recordings made for Supraphon and Czechoslovak Radio featuring arias from Wagner and Smetana operas. The venerable soprano's imminent 90th birthday represents a perfect opportunity to recall a voice that garnered enthusiastic applause at major opera houses worldwide.
