Big fan of the Dark Souls games and Dark Souls 3 is one heck of a game! Knew FromSoft wouldn't disappoint so I made the smart choice and purchased my Xbox One copy at Best Buy using MyBestBuy account and saved quite a bit!

I have played the last two entries in the souls series. This is an excellent entry and worthy predecessor. The game is deep; and you can build your character in anyway you see fit, be it magic, strength or a combination of both. The game play is fast paced and requires precision play. The areas are quite large and have multiple ways to progress. The only issue I have with the game is the frame rate drops in some select areas (2) and the game play suffers substantially. They are still playable, but in a game where timing and speed counts this has a drastic effect. That being said the game overall runs quite well; the boss battles are both challenging and rewarding.

The first Dark Souls is one of my favorite games of all time, so you can imagine my disappointment when Dark Souls II failed to live up to it. Not that it was a bad game, but there were certainly some strange design choices that took away some of the enjoyment. Thankfully, Dark Souls III is here and expands upon what made the first one so great. The combat is as enjoyable as ever, the difficulty is just right, and the environments are visually stunning and actually fit together once again. Once again, there are some truly thrilling boss battles, this time with some unique surprises (Abyss Watchers, anyone?) that up the challenge even more. This is one of the few must-own titles of the current generation.

Probably my least favorite of the Souls series games and definitely the easiest, but by far the most polished and story driven. Don't get me wrong, saying this is my least favorite is like saying it's my least favorite rollercoaster- still a blast. Souls is far and away the best game series ever created and the third entry is great!

This game took the best parts out of dark souls I, II and Bloodborne. If you enjoy dark souls games it is a must buy. If you have never played a dark souls game I strongly suggest renting it first. My suggestion for new players is to play for about 8 hours even if you experience feels too difficult at first. Once you figure out the game it is very rewarding and fun to play.

Dark Souls III is by far the easiest Souls game, but that doesn't mean it's an easy game; however, if you've been scared by everyone talking about how brutally difficult the games are, Dark Souls III is definitely the one I'd recommend. Difficulty aside, it's very beautiful, lots of fun, and incredibly rewarding. If you have the patience needed for a game that doesn't hold your hand, I think you'll find lots to love in Dark Souls III. And if you want a game where you can spend dozens and dozens and dozens of hours in it, this is one such game.

One of my favorite games of all time. Incredibly challenging and incredibly rewarding. I've played through all the Dark Souls games, and this is the most beautiful and polished of the lot. Wonderful to see it fully realized on this generation of system. Be warned, this game does not hand-hold the player the way most games do these days, but therein lies how rewarding success is. I love the weapons and how your movements must be precise and calculating. Not only fun but a true test of your patience and ability to learn and adapt.

If you have played any of the other souls games, you have a general idea of what to expect: more greatness and more death. I have experience with the other two DS games, and after playing this one I continue to love the series. I personally find that the tweaks made to the formula this time around drastically improve the experience you get in DS3 (i.e. you can move around slightly while using estus, rather than being locked in one place- a mechanic you will be thankful for when you're battling very speedy enemies). The gameplay is smooth and crispy like bacon, and while the speedier combat takes some getting used to, it definitely ramps up the intensity of enemy encounters. Graphics on the Xbone are not perfect, but the art style and world design make up for it in my mind. The world you get to explore is utterly engaging and terrifying in the best possible way. The soundtrack and sound effects are very appropriate, increasing your immersion into the world. This game truly respects you as a gamer by only rewarding you when you have earned it, and this is a unique experience in today's world of gaming. While I think this game is well worth your hard earned money, it's fair to point out something I didn't like-- bonfires. Depending on your skill, you might find yourself breezing between bonfires in some sections, making me think that there are far too many in places. Making areas easier also makes them less memorable, and I think this game toys with crossing that line, which is a minor complaint. All in all, I highly recommend this game. It's brilliantly crafted and a true challenge. Prepare to die and prepare to praise the sun \[T]/

The Dark Souls games have always been about challenging the player and this one definitely does that. This game doesn't due so in such a manner that makes the player quit playing it for good but rewards the player when they get past a part that is difficult. The graphics are beautiful and the gameplay is fantastic. Controls take a little bit to get used to but nothing that is too difficult. I definitely recommend this game!

Yes! All the satisfying sensation of reposte and backstabbing. Yes , all the frustration of dying, over and over and over, and etc. But the accomplishment of success for finding a way through, over or under your challenge . Then there's PvP play . Always fun if you win. Horrible if you lose. But Its what a game is supposed to be . FUN! And Dark souls 3 is no exception. Money well spent for entertainment...

Takes time to learn how to play Dark souls games without dying every 5 seconds in game, but really addictive when you get the hang of it

Fans of this brutally difficult series already know what the deal is here. Awesome graphics and atmosphere, with brutal difficulty. Prepare to die in game - a lot. But that's part of the experience. The Xbox one version comes with a free download code to get Dark Souls 1 via backwards compatibility, which pushed me to that version over the PS4.

Dark Souls may be to difficult for some but this game amazing. From detail to environments and the tight core combat this game is not for the faint of heart. Dark souls is rewarding and once you completed an area make you feel like you accomplished something big. This game is worth it to every gamer looking for a challenge

In this age of games that try to be more of a movie experience, a new installment of DS came out to show how games with great level design and gameplay should be the ones to follow. With beautiful music, interesting lore, and great gameplay, this a game I can even recommend to newcomers.

As this is a great game, yet hardcore, Dark souls is addictive. I play it all day, every day. Since this is a hardcore game, I wouldn't recommended low-level players or newbies to play this. It takes a time to get used to, and would be best if you started at the first dark souls.

I've played this game for a number of hours. It's difficult but manageable with help.

Dark Souls 3 provides a return to DS1 mechanics while incorporating several Bloodborne elements to provide the most fun I've had in Dark Souls. Innovative boss battles, improved hitboxes, and an absolutely stunning atmosphere. Get it.

The game remains true to the previous games with being painfully difficult. You will die over and over again like the 2 previous games but not as enjoyable as the first 2 games in the serious. The game look nice but is very dark.

Exceeded my expectations. Plus the Xbox One version throws in a free download for Dark Souls also which was a nice bonus. If you are new to the series, just be prepared to die A LOT until you learn the enemy patterns. Enjoy!

Easily one of the best RPG games that you will ever play and come across in the next few years. The graphics are astounding, especially when you peer off in to the far distances to spectate the gorgeous vistas. The gameplay is easy to pick up, but do not get me wrong, this game is HARD. You will be frustrated, furious, and enraged, but in the next second feel euphoria, glory, and accomplishment. I beat the game approximately in about a month. Usually, I beat games within a 2-7 day timeframe, so this lasted me about four times longer than the usual game. Even though there I beat the game, I still wanted to keep playing and beat the game with another build; however, I decided to trade in my game. The urge was still there though.
