Dasher - Soviet - VINYL LP

The Soviet Machines are back! Notorious Minneapolis garage punk vets return after a 10 year hiatus. Original members Marcus Jones, Jack Swagger and Rich Salsbury join forces with legendary producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Afghan Whigs) on this new self-titled album. Look for the band to tour post-plague in support of the new record.

However, before they packed it up, Kylee Kimbrough suggested recording their terminal show in Atlanta to capture their raw, swirling savagery. Do they play InchRamboInch? InchSovietInch? Nope, all new material. None of it had ever been recorded and none of it will ever be recorded again. Last show, remember?Anyway, recorded in a hodgepodge mix between a field recorder and iPhone, Dear Humans is a love letter for fans, but also captures the Bloomington, Indiana trio line up at the height of their powers. The cover is a photo of the stage shortly after they levelled one and the type? Well, it's all handwritten by seven-year old Charlotte Owings. Yep, it's a family affair.

Twelve inch vinyl pressing. Black Meteoric Star is the latest project by longtime DFA alumni Gavin Russom. The project is inspired equal parts Euro-disco, wonky early electronic body music from America's Midwest and an always present fascination with the outer reaches of global psychedelic rock. Gavin Russom began the recordings for Black Meteoric Star sometime in 2006. It was at this time that Carl Craig remixed Delia Gonzalez and Gavin Russom's single InchReleveeInch, making it one of the years biggest dance club anthems.
