2022 . When Dead Cross released their self-titled debut in the Summer of 2017, Mike Patton, in conversation with Rolling Stone, said InchI'm not some young tough guy trying to prove a point anymore. For me to make a record like this, it's entirely a musical adventure. I just think it's fun, and it makes me smile a lot.Inch Visually, and audibly, Dead Cross is a snarling beast from some of music's most experimental and dare we say, hardcore, musicians Dave Lombardo (drums), Michael Crain (guitar), Justin Pearson (bass) and the aforementioned Patton on vocals, but at it's core it's a group of friends having fun, paying homage to the music they love and asking music fans to come along for the ride. It's that very friendship that brought the band members back together once again and gave us II.

With a solid line-up for over 10 years now, Diction have developed into a fearsome live presence, having played with the likes of Shattered Realm, Everybody Gets Hurt, Krutch, Knuckledust, Ninebar, Special Move etc. Mixing traditional old-school NYHC, mosh and metallic hardcore elements, a little bit of London flavour, and a unique blend of 6 and 7-string guitars, Diction have cultivated a distinct, abrasive and memorable sound. Their debut 'Escalating Unholy War' (a 4-way split with Freebase, Set Against and Eviscerate AD) on Unity Worldwide Recordings, documents the early development of this sound, which was fully realised when the band unleashed their material on the Ninebar/Diction/Kartel South London split CD and their debut full length 'From The Depths'.

2017 . Dead Cross emerged out of a series of impractical schemes, fallen-through plans, and last-minute musical experimentation. Shows were scheduled before a single song was written, fans were formed before even one show was played. The chaos of it's creation seems apt; after all, the band is comprised entirely of artists who have thrived playing tightly-coiled turmoil-intelligent dissonance disguised as disorder. Consisting of Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies, Misfits), Mike Patton (Faith No More, Tomahawk), Justin Pearson (The Locust, Retox) and Michael Crain (Retox, Festival of Dead Deer), the impressive, expansive, and eclectic list of prior bands collectively played in would be enough to ensure the unyielding ferocity of the music... but a resume isn't necessary, here. Dead Cross stands on it's own, speaks volumes with it's multilayered evil-genius vocals, manic guitar riffs, and brutal rhythms.
