I am a huge fan of the zombie genre, and thoroughly enjoy a good zombie game! I have played through the Left For Dead Series and loved it, so going in to Dead Island, I already had something to base the experience off of. I like the first person perspective quite a bit, and the controls and action is very satisfying! The story line and quests change up enough to keep me interested, and the open world concept is a big plus! The down side. First, the action is great except they forgot to make you and the other zombies solid objects. For instance, if a zombie rushes you and you miss with your attack, they don't stay in front of you, they run right through you, and now you have a zombie behind you. And you can run through them as well. This can be hugely irritating when fighting a horde of zombies because if you back yourself into a narrow alleyway to fight a bunch of them, the ones you miss end up behind you, and the bottleneck you intended to use as a defense is a detriment, not a help. Secondly, I don't mind blood and violence, but this trend that everything has to have cussing and cleavage to make it interesting or realistic is false. Every woman on the island is a scantly clad model in a bikini, and the language gets old... I'm a grown adult, and would enjoy playing action games even more without adult content. It seems like it would be an easy option to add to the Sound Menu. Toggle adult language on/off. Overall, it's a fun game. Just know what you're getting into!

As a Left 4 Dead fan, I was skeptical at first, but then I became enthralled by the gameplay, content and story of Dead Island. Enriched by the island life, the zombie apocalypse takes a different turn. You will be thrown into vacation; an edge of your seat vacation. You will want to see the sights, meet the people and bash in a couple of skulls or set enemies on fire. In an open world, it is entirely your choice of how you want to proceed; follow the main story, take side quests, explore the island or choosing to play by yourself or bringing friends to the onslaught of undead. Be prepared for anything by leveling up your character in 3 different skill trees that add different experiences to your gameplay plus upgrade and modify your weaponry to take on the nasty infected inhabitants of Banoi.

Purchased this game for my son. It has good graphics and the price was reasonable. The game was cheaper at walmart, but they only had it online, so I went to Best Buy and they were able to price match. My son was thrilled to get the game the same day.

This is one of those games I saw previews for and knew I would like but just never got around to finding it in stores. So glad i finally did. Focusing on melee combat is new for a zombie ga,e and ads a few new levels of terror and suspense. Probably a tad difficult for new players but mastering the game comes at the right time later on. All around fun to play and quite the joy.

Overall a good game that allows you to explore a large open map with plenty of zombies to beat, slash, drown, blow up and a lot more ways to take them out. You can allow other players to come in and join you or play on your own, your choice.

This game is heavily arcade and robotic in terms of the A.I. zombies you face. The game is fun for a time to roam around and find things and kill zombies but the game tires over time as it gets more challenging. I preferred games like State of Decay more than this one.

If you like hack and slash games this game is great. Zombies are great looking. Graphics are beautiful. Wish there were more zombies to kill at one time though. Great game to play with your friends online. Need more special types of zombies though. All in all it is worth the price of $19.99.

This game is so fun! Definitely try this... It didn't become game of the year for no reason!

Dead Island is the next step in zombie game evolution after Resident Evil. Fast paced gameplay and a wide array of weapons make this a must play for fans of action games.

Game was good and gory. Fun to kill zombies. Shipped quickly and arrived in perfect condition.

I watched him play it because the reviews said it was violent. It didn't look any worse than his other games. The reviews also said the girls didn't have a lot of clothes on. It didn't seem any worse than what you see at the beach. He beat the game in about two months.

If you love zombie games and FPS, this is the game to buy. Amazing story line and awesome graphics! I'm having a blast with this one!

Did not live up to my expectations. Says two player co-op, but is only online. Not as challenging as I thought it would be and the controls are not as smooth as they could be.

Just like the L4D, and Dead Space reviews i did, another i had to surrender to ensure the holidays went well...but this game is crazy especially online! Its fun, and one of the zombie games thats hard to put down.

BOUGHT THIS ON THE FLY AS SOMETHING MY SON MIGHT LIKE. SAYS ITS PRETTY GOOD, HASN'T GOTTEN INTO TOO FAR YET.

My cousin and I purchased this hoping to play co-op on the same xbox. The case art says that it is capable of that, but when we got it home, it is not capable of that feature. We both had to purchase the game and play it on live. It isn't too bad of a game, especially for $20 or less.

Fun game to play with friends. Some spots got my heart going which added to the fun gamelpay.
