An ultra rare instrumental surf rock single originally released in 1964 on the New York City indie tag Angletone, Johnny & the Volumes' InchVolume ExpressInch b/w InchTicker TapeInch features surf guitar with an almost mariachi style trumpet accompaniment on side InchAInch - while side InchBInch adds rocking saxophone to the mix. Guitarist and songwriter John Ogden later went on to front the Ashtabula, Ohio based garage rock band The Triumphs who released two singles for the New York based Genuine tag and were active for a few years in the late 1960s, recording their first single at the famed Chess studios in Chicago. This Johnny & the Volumes single appears to be the only record the band ever put out and is so rare in fact that copies of the original 45 RPM sell for big bucks on collector's sites. The obscure gem is presented here newly remastered and finally made available in the digital domain.

2019 from this alt-rock collective led by Michael Collins. On Raw Honey, his second album as Drugdealer, Collins colors these existential conundrums with rich arrangements, memetic melodies, and a vulnerable tunefulness that tries to make sense of self-doubt and connected loneliness in our shared simulacra. Raw Honey continues where The End of Comedy left off, with Collins leading an ace crew of collaborators to coalesce the spirit of Drugdealer's classically modern pop. Built on the foundation of a creative partnership among Collins, Sasha Winn (vocals) and Shags Chamberlain (bass, production), Drugdealer is more a collective than band. Raw Honey features contributions of Josh Da Costa (drums), Jackson MacIntosh (guitar), Danny Garcia (guitar), Michael Long (lead guitar), and Benjamin Schwab (backing vocals, guitar, organ, piano, wurlitzer), as well as guest vocalists like country balladeer Dougie Poole (InchWild MotionInch), Harley Hill-Richmond (InchLonelyInch), and frequent collaborator Natalie Mering (Weyes Blood) whose dulcet tones sing low before soaring on InchHoney,Inch a track as silky as the nectar itself.

For Simon Rattle, Jean Sibelius is Inchone of the most staggeringly original composers that there isInch. And indeed, this music has a unique musical language whose many beauties are particularly succinctly conveyed in Sibelius's seven symphonies. There is sonorous warmth as much as there is austere Nordic folklore. Moreover, there is a conceptual boldness that takes the listener on exciting musical journeys of discovery. In 2015, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Sibelius's birth, Simon Rattle and the Berliner Philharmoniker presented the cycle live, which was met with unanimous delight by audiences and critics alike. InchThe Philharmoniker show that with them and Simon Rattle, Sibelius is in excellent hands,Inch wrote the Berliner Zeitung, Inchbecause the orchestra has that astringency and sheer power which is so important for this kind of music.Inch Simon Rattle was familiar with the music of Jean Sibelius from childhood. When, as a ten-year-old, he heard the Fifth Symphony live for the first time, it struck him - to use his own words - Inchlike a thunderboltInch. The Berliner Philharmoniker can also look back on a long Sibelius tradition and the orchestra was conducted by the composer himself in 1902. However, the first complete performance of the seven symphonies was not realized until 2010 under the direction of Sir Simon Rattle, with the Third Symphony being performed by the Philharmoniker for the first time. For many music lovers in Berlin, this new encounter with Sibelius was an exhilarating experience, and so it was only natural to repeat the performance of the cycle in Sibelius's anniversary year.
