Q: Do the cameras need to be plugged in also or does the cable running from the DVR carry the power?
A: Great question Jess. The cables running from the DVR carry power, each end of the cable is split into power and video connections.

A: Thank you for your question! The cameras record in colour during daylight. In the dark, infrared nightvision engages in black and white. The black and white in the product description refers to color of the camera casing.

A: Thank you for asking this Cap. Wireless or wired will depend entirely on how you need to set up your system. Both types of HD cameras can record in 1080p resolution, and the wireless cameras are completely secure. In terms of the phone you would use for remote viewing and alerts, you would need either an Android or iPhone smartphone.
Q: What cables are included how long ect. What is not included?
A: Thank you for your question! Each camera includes 60ft of cable. If extensions are needed they are manufactured in 60ft and 120ft lengths.
A: Thank you for your question! The DVR can record 8 channels at 15FPS while set to 1080P. The cameras do not have microphones, though the DVR does have 4x audio inputs where you can install third party RCA microphones. If you do want to switch the hard drive, it will support up to 8TB but we at Defender cannot support this modification.
