So I received my new Dell 24” IPS LCD 144Hz FreeSync Monitor a few days ago, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. I needed another monitor to setup an older Mac mini desktop in my spare bedroom and this was just the monitor for the job. This would be the first Dell product that I’ve owned it a long time. No issues with Dell, just usually go with another brand. Inside the box: * 24 “ Dell Monitor * Power Adapter and Cord * HDMI Cable * Flat Base * Stand/Back * Screwdriver & 4 Screws * User Documentation Setup if really easy. Just use take the stand/back and attach it the to the base using the included loop spin screw that’s already installed on the base; tighten that to the stand/back. Next, using the included screwdriver and screws, attach the stand to the back of the monitor and that’s it. You will noticed on the monitor as far as ports, there’s only 2 HDMI ports which is all I needed to for this desktop setup, and the power port to plug in the power cable. I connected the HDMI to the back of the monitor and to the Mac mini and that was it. This monitor does not have speakers, so you will need some to connect to your computer. At the bottom right of the monitor underneath is the power button as well as 4 other buttons that control the menu function on the monitor. I didn’t have to tweak the buttons at all since the monitor was quickly recognized by my Mac and the colors seemed accurate for the type of monitor it is. This is not a fancy monitor like LED or OLED for that matter but it gets the job done as for a spare computer.

Taking this Dell SE2426HS 24" IPS monitor out of the box to set up, I was annoyed to find that the monitor panel needed to be screwed onto the support arm with four tiny screws with a screwdriver, which at least was supplied. Nowadays I thought every monitor panel would be just a snap-on type of attachment to the arm. After dealing with this minor inconvenience and connecting the monitor to my PC, my annoyance changed to surprised and delighted at the vibrant color this monitor displays! The color really pops on this IPS panel. I wouldn't have guessed that I'd get such a good picture on a budget monitor. Also, this monitor has great specs with 1920 x 1080 FHD resolution, 1ms response time, 144Hz refresh rate and FreeSync, making it capable of decent gaming. In fact, I've done some gaming on it, and it performs very well, better than I expected. Smooth action, great color, detail, and brightness, and no stuttering or tearing. The height and viewing angle are adjustable. It also has a rotating plate built into the bottom of the base so the monitor can be easily turned from side to side. It has 2 HDMI ports and the standard OSD buttons & power button on the bottom right. No speakers. A power cord, HDMI cable and quick start guide come with the monitor. This is a terrific monitor, budget or not. Unless you want a bigger, OLED, or high-end competitive gaming monitor, there's no reason to spend more on a monitor. I highly recommend this one.

I was shopping for an inexpensive monitor that delivered a great viewing experience for a reasonable price. The specifications for this monitor certainly looked impressive. A refresh rate of 144Hz, a resolution of 1920 x 1080, a refresh rate of 1 millisecond, and an IPS panel. For work and play, this was my list of must haves. What set this one apart from the others is the 3 year warranty and fully adjustable stand. Of note here is that the monitor only supports 2 HDMI inputs, and does not have internal speakers. Neither of those is a deal breaker for me since I prefer external speakers and for my systems, the HDMI connection is all I need. I point this out in case your requirements include a different input type or internal speakers. Setting up the monitor is a breeze. You need to attach the stand with the included screws using the included screwdriver. Then connect the included HDMI cable and power and it’s ready to go. With the second HDMI port, you can easily switch between inputs. The performance really punches above its price. The color, detail, and brightness are better than I expected. With FreeSync it even handles gaming well with the outstanding response time. At this price you won’t be disappointed. It’s a solid performer with the backing of Dell.
