Q: Any reason I can play CDs but no sound coming from SACDs? I am using optical output.
A: Turns out that quite a few amplifiers can't process the DSD stream (even if their product descriptions say they can). Using the Analog Audio out from the unit works. Something I learned recently was, if you get nothing from either Analog or Digital outputs, unplug the unit for a couple of minutes (hard reset) and then plug it back in.
Q: Will this unit play multi-channel sacd's?
A: Hello. The DCD-1700NE is a 2 channel player. It does not support playback of multi-channel SACDs.

A: Hello. Sorry to learn of the inconvenience. The first thing to try is a power reset - completely disconnect the DCD-1700NE from the power source for 15 minutes and power back up again.
