About this product
Canadian singer, songwriter and producer Devin Townsend Devin Townsend - Order Of Magnitude - Empath Live Volume 1 Ltd. Black 3 LP + 2 CD Box Set On a strange night in December 2019, Devin Townsend brought his high wire act to The Roundhouse, a converted railway shed in Camden, North London. It was the penultimate show of the tour in support of his latest album, the breath-takingly intricate and ambitious Empath, which itself found the man who made it consciously throwing off the artistic shackles he'd spent the past two decades wrapping around himself. This was Devin Townsend without a safety net, as captured on the brand new 'Order of Magnitude - Empath Live Volume 1'. The incredible line-up included guitarists Mike Kenneally (ex-Frank Zappa) and Markus Reuter (Stick Men, The Crimson Projekct), drummer Morgen Agren (Kaipa, Mats & Morgan, Frank Zappa), bassist Nathan Navarro, Haken keyboard player Diego Tejeida, and guitarist/vocalist Ché Aimee Dorval, as well as vocalists Samantha & Anne Preis and Arabella Packford. 'Order of Magnitude' is his crowning glory. After a lifetime of caring - sometimes too much - this is Devin Townsend free and unchained, rising to yet another challenge that he had set. - Ltd. Black 3 LP + 2 CD Box Set

Ancient Homies is the third full-length album by lespecial. Conceptually InchAncient HomiesInch deals with themes of travel throughout different planes, both physical and meta-physical. Lyrically it explores concepts of InchboundariesInch and how one can transport themselves, either physically across the infinite vastness of space, or mentally to a different mental plane, as we believe the best musical pieces to do. The other-worldly quality of music is echoed in samples from 50's and 60's sci-fi/horror films such as InchThe Thing From Another WorldInch and InchQuatermass and the PitInch. The quotes from these films that deal with unearthing ancient, primordial secrets act as a through line throughout the Homie Improv Interludes. This album captures the qualities and sides of our band that we feel best represents ourselves and our music. There are moments of intensity, darkness and heaviness that call to our influences in the prog world such as Tool and King Crimson, exemplified by our mixing engineer Dave Sanchez at Riffs or Die, as well as more sub-heavy, head nodding tunes that nod to some of our favorite electronic artists like Flying Lotus and Nine Inch Nails. Devolution Series #3 - Empath Live In America - Devin Townsend -The third in the Devolution series, 'Empath Live In America' is a document of the tour that was cut short in early 2020. As Devin explains Inchthis tour marked a 'free form' version of the material. There was no backing tracks, click tracks, or even a setlist, so every night was unique and different. The audience yelled out requests and we just rolled with it. The material was therefore interpreted in unique ways and the experience was a very special 'fly by the seat of our pants' musical night.Inch Featuring a stripped back version of the 'Order of Magnitude' band, this captures a raw and off-kilter performance.
