- Description: 2014 remastered expanded edition. 'How Many Times Can We Say Goodbye' is the1983 album by legendary soul singer Dionne Warwick, her sixth for the Arista tag. This pairs Dionne with producer Luther Vandross. Although InchGot a DateInch and InchI Do It 'Cause I Like ItInch are both disposable popbased fillers, this album has phenomenal versions of some of Vandross' unsung gems. The poignant title track is a duet with Vandross and Warwick, and finds their voices blending superbly. The gentle InchSo AmazingInch and the gossamer, touching InchWhat Can a Miracle DoInch have Warwick's all-encompassing and raspy vocals cohering in Vandross' trademark rich surroundings. She also tackles Michael McDonald's grade a weeper InchI Can Let Go NowInch and brings a deeper sense of longing and hurt than the great original. In the same vein, InchWill You Love Me TomorrowInch shows up as a reflective ballad featuring the Shirelles. This album features arguably Vandross' best players, including Nat Adderley, Jr. On keyboards, drummer Yogi Horton, bassist Marcus Miller, and great emotive synth work by Skip Anderson. How Many Times Can We Say Goodbye an absolute necessity for fans of Warwick and Vandross. Album Tracks 1. Got a Date 2. So Amazing 3. I Do It Cause I Like 4. How Many Times Can We Say Goodbye 5. What Can a Miracle Do 6. Two Ships Passing in the Night 7. I Can Let Go Now 8. Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow 9. Got a Date (12Inch Version) (Bonus Track) 10.
