I have an Avata 2 and it came with Goggles 3 and really liked the goggle FPV view. The quality of the goggles, the clarity and various adjustments within the goggles is what everyone could ask for. So, why do I need another set? I bought and tried the N3 Goggles as I have two other drones that are compatible with FPV goggles and I was impressed with the viewing of the N3 Goggles as well as liking the ability to wear glasses (for others using them) with the N3 Goggles, the clarity just wasn't as good, though they worked well, I took them back and got my 2nd set of Goggles 3. One feature I like is the ability to see around me with the goggles on using a couple of taps. The N3 Goggles didn't do this. It's a nice safety feature and great when you need to see your surroundings without having to take off goggles. The OLED screen is very crisp while the N3 Goggles were 1080p and one large screen. The screen view with these is very clear and for me, worth double the price, but it was a tough decision and not a blow out compared to the N3 Goggles. If I had not wore these before the N# Goggles, I likely would of kept them. The size of these Goggles 3 is also an important factor as they are smaller in size and a comfortable fit. The N3 Goggles were larger and not as comfortable, but very doable. I compare these two goggles as both are newest from DJI and the price of the N3 Goggles was $229 vs. $499 for these. Quite a steep difference and both do the job very well. Goggles 3 for me though, was the better option, but expensive.

The Goggles 3 looks pretty similar to the Goggles 2, with a consistent color scheme. The goggles don’t flip up like a visor, but they can be adjusted to make sure the display gasket fits snugly against your face. This way, you can see everything clearly without any light leaking in. One cool thing about the Goggles 3 is that they have a built-in cooling fan that turns on automatically when you power them on. It’s not super loud, but it does help keep the goggles cool. Like the Goggles 2, the antennas on the Goggles 3 are foldable, but they’re not removable like the Integra. This makes the goggles simpler, but it also means you can’t upgrade to aftermarket antennas. Some people might not like that, but it’s not a deal-breaker for everyone. The Goggles 3 has a bigger battery (21.6Wh compared to 18Wh in the G2), which means you can fly for a bit longer before you need to recharge. But it also means the goggles are a bit heavier. The Goggles 3 has a 44° FOV, which is the same as the Integra, compared to the Goggles 2’s wider 51° FOV. One new feature in the Goggles 3 is called “Real-time Live View.” It uses two front-facing cameras to give you a quick glance at your surroundings. It’s pretty handy if you’re not sure where you are or if you need to avoid something or just a quick glance of surroundings or face to face convo without the need for full removal. It does take some getting used to visually. So, should you get the DJI Goggles 3 or stick with the Goggles 2? It depends on what you need and what kind of drone you want to fly. If you’re planning to fly the DJI Avata 2 drone, the Goggles 3 is your only option. But it’s also compatible with the DJI Air 3 and Mini 4 Pro camera drones.
