Doctor Who: Fury from the Deep (Box Set) [DVD] [Standard] [3 Discs]

This DVD set is a great value. It's an animated version of a long lost classic where the video is lost to time but the full audio soundtrack has been preserved. The original audio is married to the new animation to great effect. The final product is like magically being able to watch a story that had not been seen in over half a century. As with most of these CLASSIC Doctor Who titles, multiple hours of entertaining and fun bonus features are included. These include episode commentaries, documentaris The show itself is exciting and amusing PLUS it includes many extras and bonus features. So, you not only get the program (in both original black and white AND color versions), you're also getting hours of truly informative and entertaining behind the scenes extras.

Another Second Doctor classic restored from nothing but scraps of film and the audio! It's a great recreation but it is missing some of the charm of what little remains of the original (the two comedy villains' attack isn't as creepy in animation). Still, some good creepy fun with one of the best Old Doctors.

Only a few minutes of video and some photos of the original remain. Fortunately, one of the creepiest video sequences remains, as well as some of the ending. It is a good story; too bad it is lost. But the animated story was good. One weird point: a 6 episode story but 3 DVDs. One in color, one in black and white and one reconstructed using photos and video.

This long lost story can finally be seen again with animation, using audio recorded off-air by a fan when this story was first shown on the BBC over fifty years ago. You can choose to watch in two ways: as originally presented in black & white, or in color. Extras include surviving video clips, commentary tracks and how this recreation was achieved.

Great blue ray the price was right I will add it to my collection
