About this product
Dorsey Burnette - The Rockabilly Years The Singles & Albums Collection 1955-62 - He was a performer very much of his era and culture, and this is a substantial showcase for the rockabilly side of his music. Born in Memphis, Tenn., in 1932, Dorsey Burnette was the older brother of rock 'n' roll singer and pop star Johnny Burnette, and they shared an early career in the Rock 'N' Roll Trio before they branched out into their respective solo careers, with Dorsey enjoying a number of hits in the pop and country charts, although overshadowed somewhat by his brother's chart-topping achievements. In his later career during the 1970s, all his hits were in the country charts, but in the early years he was very much a rockabilly and rock 'n' roll specialist. Presented on Cream colored vinyl. Arguably one of the biggest guitar bands in the UK, it's been well over a decade since the White Lies's breakthrough single InchDeatInchh introduced a group for whom the fragility of human existence has been a constant touchstone. Now in his 30s, chief lyricist Cave's outlook on the great unknown has evolved. InchI think the side of death or mortality that I always find interesting is the fact we all know it's going to happen,Inch he says, Inchand how different people navigate that.Inch The followup to 2019's Five, As I Try Not To Fall Apart is their most expansive record to date, taking in explosive rock, electro-pop bangers, prog-inspired invention, funk-tinged grooves and some of their most indelible hooks yet. InchWe'll probably never make an album in the way we made this one again,Inch says Cave. InchI think this could be one of our bestInch says McVeigh. Recorded over two studio sessions, White Lies tested their resolve to get there, but they didn't fall apart. They have emerged with their most vital collection of songs in years.

Eddie Cochran was one of the iconic figures of the rock 'n' roll era, his mystique and legendary status heightened by his tragic death in a road accident in 1960 when he was only 22. With heartthrob good looks and stylish image, he featured in the movie InchThe Girl Can't Help ItInch even before he had a hit record, and came readily to stardom as the rock 'n' roll explosion of the mid-'50s reached it's height, his records epitomising the teenage aspirations and frustrations of the times. He was a fine songwriter as well as an innovative performer and recording artist, and in his short career he made some of the most memorable hits of the rock 'n' roll era, which have become among the most covered songs over the years, finding their way into the repertoire of every rock 'n' roll band across the world. This great-value 57-track 2-CD collection brings together every recording which he released during his brief career, including his early singles as part of The Cochran Brothers before he joined the Liberty tag, plus tracks which weer released posthumously on LPs through to 1962. It comprises every A and B side of his singles, plus all the other tracks released on EP or LP during his lifetime or soon afterwards, which were not featured on a single . It naturally includes landmark records like InchC'Mon EverybodyInch, InchTwenty Flight RockInch, InchSummertime BluesInch, InchSomethin' ElseInch, InchThree Steps To HeavenInch and InchJeannie Jeannie JeannieInch, and many more classic examples of his style. It provides a definitive overview of his career and is a marvellous souvenir for anyone who appreciated his unique talent.
