It’s the year 199X, and nuclear war has devastated New York City leaving its citizens to fight for survivals riots and crime engulf the streets. The city has been overtaken by criminal gangs who terrorize its ruins as they fight for total dominance. Unwilling to endure these conditions any longer, young Billy and Jimmy Lee take it upon themselves to drive the gangs out of their city. Explore the early beginnings of the young Double Dragon brothers as they take on both new and familiar enemies in this alternate story. In this fresh roguelike take, every playthrough is brand new chance at new action. Featuring a unique and dynamic level structure, the difficulty of the missions you take on will change depending on the order you have selected them. Tag in and out as the classic duo Billy and Jimmy, switch it up with Marian and Uncle Matin, or experiment with 9 additional unlockable characters, each with their own special moves and unique playstyles. With 2 player local co-op, the action quadruples as you and a friend clean up the mean streets.

    Choose two fighters and seamlessly switch between them, giving you a multitude of strategies for devastating combos, defensive and offensive moves.

  • Beat'em up with roguelite elements

    Experience endless playthrough possibilities with adynamic mission select function; the order in which you choose your mission will affect mission length, number of enemies, and overall difficulty. Choose where you improve with randomized purchasable upgrades for your characters at the end of each mission, or save your cash to revive your players in-mission.

  • 13 unique playable characters

    Start the fight with Billy, Jimmy, Marian, and Uncle Matin. Earn tokens along the way to unlock a diverse roster of 9 more characters, each with their own playstyle and strengths. Strategically choose your fighting duo by taking into account each characters’ strengths and weaknesses.

  • Shape your experience and rewards

    Adjust game difficulty to affect the number of tokens earned per session and use those tokens to unlock content from the Token Shop including characters, tips, and more. Modifier can be used to enter permadeath or even infinite mode.

  • Online and local co-op

    Grab a friend and clean up the city streets together in local co-op mode that supports up to two players.

  • Survival mode

    Test your might against a barrage of enemies in this wave mode that increases in difficulty the further you progress. Use tokens to unlock this mode, as well as special backgrounds during runs.

  • Versus mode

    Select two characters and upgrades to battle against your friends to prove who is the ultimate Dragon Warrior. This mode and special backgrounds are unlocked via the token shop.

    Old school fun.

    If you're an old school fan of DD, you'll probably have fun with this entry. It's not quite as good as other recent Beat em Up games like Shredder's Revenge or River City Girls... but it's pretty solid for what it is. There's a large cast of playable characters, which is cool. It's only 2 players though, which is a bit of a bummer with how many characters they have available. My main gripe is that it feels a little too slow, plus the levels don't feel distinct enough. Also, it's very short (but that's pretty common for this genre). Overall, it's worth it if you're a fan. Just don't go in with super high expectations.

    A Roguelite and Reboot take on Double Dragon

    This reboot of Double Dragon is amazing and the level design is good but not great also the music is top notch as always as well as the gameplay is very good for what the title is known for so overall this game will be a great purchase for anybody who loves beat them up games

    A lot of fun!

    I'm a big fan of Double Dragon and have almost every single Double Dragon game that came out and I have to say this new take on the new Double Dragon is great and a lot of fun! It has the same feel as the original Double Dragon for the NES back in the day but with all new features and animation and music, the graphics look great with a whole new look. And also bonus characters that you can play that have to be unlocked.

    1st DD game EVER!

    This is my forst Double Gragon game ever, at age 41. I did play the original on my cousin's NES. Was never that much of a fan, but this game seemed interesting to me.
