About This Item

This brand new 1/72 scale plastic model represents the Germany StuG. III Ausf.B Tank from StuG.Abt. 226, Eastern Front (1941), German Army, part of the "NEO Dragon Armor" Series by Dragon Models. It is a limited edition model in brand new packaging, featuring detailed exterior and true-to-scale accuracy. The model comes in a plastic display showcase and has pad-printed markings and placards that won’t fade or peel, with a protective display case to keep it in pristine condition. The dimensions are approximately 3.25 inches in length, 1.75 inches in width, and 1.5 inches in height. The StuG III Ausf. B was an early variant of Germany's Sturmgeschütz III assault gun, designed to support infantry by neutralizing enemy fortifications, machine-gun nests, and light armor. Built on the Panzer III chassis, it featured a short-barreled 75mm StuK 37 L/24 gun and reinforced armor. Introduced in 1940, the Ausf. B represented an evolution of the initial design, with wider tracks to improve mobility on rough terrain. StuG.Abt. 226, equipped with the StuG III Ausf. B, saw extensive action on the Eastern Front during Operation Barbarossa, participating in the drive toward key Soviet cities and playing a critical role in breaking through heavily defended positions. The StuG III excelled in both urban and rural combat, with its low profile and powerful gun effectively eliminating fortified enemy positions, supporting German infantry against stiff Soviet resistance. Harsh weather, supply shortages, and ferocious counterattacks tested both the vehicles and their crews, yet the StuG III Ausf. B proved to be a versatile and reliable platform, contributing significantly to early German successes and laying the groundwork for further development of the widely produced StuG series. This 1:72 scale model replicates the historical details of the vehicle, from its low-slung silhouette to the characteristic Eastern Front weathering, making it an authentic and striking addition for collectors and World War II enthusiasts.
