The NVY-M8DTPS/BK is an 8" marine short tower speaker from the DS18 NVY series, the brand's high-performance line. It handles 200 watts RMS and 400 watts peak at 4 ohms. Construction includes a kevlar cone, a santoprene surround and an aluminum basket. The motor uses a neodymium assembly. An IP65 rating protects the driver against water and dust in open-air installs on boats, side-by-sides and powersports vehicles. Sensitivity is rated at 99dB across a 40Hz to 20kHz response. Sold as a pair.
The kevlar cone holds its shape under sustained power instead of flexing and losing definition, paired with santoprene surround and aluminum basket. Material choice is what separates a driver that stays accurate from one that only plays loud.
A neodymium motor drives 200 watts RMS and 400 watts peak, built around 2" voice coil on a glass fiber former and 8 Oz of magnet. Neodymium keeps the motor compact and the magnetic field strong, which means tighter cone control at full output.
A compression driver handles the upper range from the center of the assembly. It delivers the output and clarity a dome tweeter cannot reach in an open-air install.
Engineered to endure: IP65 rated against water and dust and UV stable against constant sun exposure, aluminum construction. Built for open-air installs where the speaker lives exposed to saltwater, spray and sun year round.
Digital LED lighting is built into the speaker, so the system matches the rest of the build. A lighting controller is required for full control and is sold separately. It is NOT included.
