Dumb Numbers - II - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Inner Wave's fifth full-length album represents a massive leap for the California indie-rock outfit, honing their winning melodic instincts that have already wowed listeners and live audiences. At once broadly appealing and inarguably personal, 'SEE YOU WHEN I GET BACK' zeros in on the sharpest and most mature version of their sound yet, recalling the rich psych-pop of Tame Impala, The Sea and Cake's cool-handed post-rock, and the glowing synth fantasias of Neon Indian's Alan Palomo.

2013 debut by this Indie supergroup led by Australian songwriter Adam Harding who has teamed up with Lou Barlow (Sebadoh, Dinosaur Jr.., Folk Implosion), Dale Crover (Melvins), Murph (Dinosaur Jr..), Bobb Bruno (Best Coast), CR Matheny (Emperor X) and others to create this self-titled work of art. Dumb Numbers walks a line between the aggressive and the emotional. In just 36 minutes the album manages to move from feedback-drenched pop (InchLast Night I Had a DreamInch) to Melvins-leaning rock (InchLost InsideInch), to monastery doom metal (InchWithoutInch), to sentimental piano pieces (InchThe Broken PromisesInch), to balls-out guitar shredding (InchRedrumInch).
