D'Va - Mad Hatter Vs Fly Juice - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Limited Edition Vagrant 25th Anniversary 3LP on on Crystal Violet Vinyl. Featuring Tom Waits, Peter Buck & John Sebastian. The 2005 album Blinking Lights and Other Revelations is about InchGod and all the questions related to the subject of God,Inch says it's creator, Mark Oliver Everett, also known as Eels leader E. InchIt's also about hanging on to my remaining shreds of sanity and the blue sky that comes the day after a terrible storm,Inch he adds, Inchand it's a love letter to life itself, in all it's beautiful, horrible glory.Inch The album is full of unusual instrumentation and some notable guest stars. One song (InchLast Time We SpokeInch) features Everett's hound dog, Bobby, Jr., howling a lonesome solo. A few songs later, Eels-fan-turned-collaborator Tom Waits cries a solo - literally - (InchGoing FetalInch). Later on, R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck (making his second appearance on an Eels album) plays dobro, guitar and bass (the Buck co-written InchTo Lick Your BootsInch), and on an album that prominently features the autoharp on several songs, it's exciting to know that the king of rock & roll autoharp, The Lovin' Spoonful's John Sebastian, makes a rare appearance, playing autoharp on one track (InchDusk A Peach in the Orchard,Inch co-written by Sebastian).

Since 2010 Olympia-based punk trio Naomi Punk - featuring singer/guitarist Travis Coster, guitarist Neil Gregerson, and drummer Nic Luempert - have been lighting up DIY warehouses and large concert halls alike with their singular brand of mid-tempo, cathartic punk. Commencing their breakout 2012 debut the Feeling, Naomi Punk return to the fold with their sophomore record, Television Mani - their first for Captured Tracks. A key fixture in the Northwest DIY punk scene, Naomi Punk channel a similar energy to their contemporaries (Milk Music, Broken Water, Vexx, Gag) and their fore bearers (Wipers, Dead Moon, Nirvana) while cultivating a body of work and aesthetic that is wholly their own.
