Dwight Twilley - Twilley - Expanded Edition - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

First time on CD worldwide! Includes 9 bonus tracks. Wild Dogs is a brilliant pop/rock album that never got a fair chance - until now. Dwight Twilley achieved a long-awaited breakthrough when his 1984 single InchGirlsInch hit the Top 20 and parent album Jungle went Top 40. The stage was set for Twilley's next album Wild Dogs to put him over the top. Hit producer Val Garay (Linda Ronstadt, Kim Carnes, The Motels) was onboard, along with Twilley regulars Susan Cowsill, Phil Seymour and Bill Pitcock IV. But it all came crashing down when Twilley's tag head was implicated in a major payola scandal on the eve of the album's , sinking Wild Dogs without a trace. If ever an artist and album deserved better, it's this one. The original Wild Dogs album has been remastered by Vic Anesini for it's first-ever CD . Nine bonus tracks not only double the disc's length but present Dwight's original demos for the album. Longtime Twilley art director Zox has uncovered never-before-seen photos from the original shoot, and power pop authority Ken Sharp contributes new liner notes based on 2022 interviews with Twilley, Cowsill, Garay and Zox.

Dwight Twilley's second solo album had a protracted birth. Recording sessions began in 1978 for an album to be titled 'Blueprint' and planned for through Arista Records. Complex legal entanglements slowed progress until a different tag, EMI America at last released the retitled album, 'Scuba Divers' in the summer of 1982. Yet Dwight never stopped writing and cutting throughout the enforced interval since his 1979 solo debut, 'Twilley'. Along the path, dozens of his very best songs and performances came in and out of consideration as numerous album sequences were compiled then recompiled. Now, 25 essential songs from years of studio work paint a fuller picture of Dwight Twilley at a peak of creativity. Rough bootlegs of the first iteration of 'Blueprint' have been breathlessly traded by fans throughout the decades, as Dwight Twilley's unreleased album took on a legendary status. But 'Scuba Divers (Blueprint Edition)' goes way beyond by presenting additional songs that have never circulated, along with the best of the previously bootlegged material in original master-sourced sound.
