A: The outer coating and insulation are made of polyethylene instead of vinyl so it doesn't produce toxic gas in a fire. It is also stiffer so you can potentially feed it through a wall. The electrical and data performance are similar to a regular (soft) cable but it is a bit tougher mechanically.
