About this product
Richard Blackford writes InchWhen I was asked to write a short piece in memory of Sandrey Date I thought of Christina Rossetti's haunting poem Echo, about remembrance of a beloved person who will not return. The strong alliteration of the three verses, the preponderance of long vowel sounds, make it ideal for musical setting. I chose a cello obligato since it was an instrument Sandrey loved and played well. The three verses are preceded by short cello interludes that highlight the rising major second motif on the word InchcomeInch. Each verse is musically related but different, with climaxes occurring on the words Inchsunshine on a streamInch in verse one and Inchpulse for pulseInch in the final verse. Each verse travels far harmonically from it's opening tonality but concludes each time in the key of E-flat major. The baritone solo leads the chorus throughout, summoning dreams and memories of the beloved, and leads it to the work's soft conclusion.Inch

![Echo du Danube - Sonatae Pro Diversis Instrumentis Op 1 - COMPACT DISCS [CD]](https://pisces.bbystatic.com/image2/BestBuy_US/images/products/80e9a14e-24e5-416d-b666-2bc146117f19.jpg;maxHeight=422;maxWidth=264?format=webp)
Gottfried Finger Sonatae Pro Diversis Instrumentis Op. 1, Finger / Echo Du Danube, Date 10/25/2011, Composer Gottfried Finger, Conductor Christian Zincke, Orchestra/Ensemble Ensemble Echo du Danube, Number of Discs 1. Echo du Danube is a well established, pan-European period instrument ensemble with four previous titles on the Accent tag to it's credit; all of them garnered favorable responses from Fanfare reviewers J. F. Weber, Bertil van Boer and Michael Carter. I have nothing but the highest admiration for the performances on this disc. Depending on the scoring, there are as many as three violinists and one violist in the mix; the upper strings are expressive, supple, and suave. Director Christian Zincke also functions as the bass viola da gamba player, and together with keyboardist Lutz Gillmann they provide a solid underpinning for the group. Gillmann alternates between harpsichord and chamber organ; I find the sonority of the latter especially appropriate in the context of the string ensemble. Ample annotations and a thoroughly natural-sounding engineering job complete the picture. Another fine addition to the already extensive Accent catalog. Highly recommended.

Last year when everyone else was stuck at home, your Lords and Masters GWAR braved the pandemic to reunite with their lost Scumdog brethren for an evening of pure shock rock madness they dubbed Scumdogs XXX Live. The show was filmed in an empty crack house in Richmond, VA and featured the return of beloved GWAR characters Slymenstra Hymen, Sleazy P. Martini, Sexecutioner and Techno Destructo. Now you, the Bohabs, have a chance to relive this event over and over again with the of Scumdogs Live.
