About this product
As one half of Minutes Unlimited, a group formed with fellow electronic producer Michna (Ghostly International), Eliot Lipp displays a talent for creating precise, shiny techno/trap that showcases both artists' synth and drum machine dexterity. He also provides the prefix for the appropriately named Lipphead, a collaborative effort with underground hip-hop and downtempo producer Blockhead. Lipphead's loose and experimental approach to dance music stands in stark contrast to the cold, methodical tone of Minutes Unlimited. Somewhere in between and slightly off-center of these two sounds is 'Encounters,' Lipp's forthcoming full length LP. From laid-back downtempo cuts 'Know By Now' and 'The Lowdown' to choppy upbeat hip-hop instrumentals like 'Guitar Maniacs' - Eliot condenses years of growth and influence into this expansive double LP. Comprised of 16 tracks, the sequencing of Encounters pulls from Lipp's DJing experience, creating a seamless and cohesive listening experience from start to finish. Album Tracks 1. Young Alpine 2. Turtle Party II 3. Free! 4. Know By Now 5. Guitar Maniacs 6. Lay Down 7. Mystic Encounters 8. Melt Lemon Drops 9. Diner Thursdays 10. The Lowdown 11. Piano Maniacs 12. Thanks 13. Back in the Day 14. Prospect (Feat. Jasia 10) 15. Waterloo 16. Understanding Science

Limited vinyl LP pressing. 2016 , the ninth album from Eliot Lipp, a veteran musician and sound designer. After more than a decade living in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York (but equally home on the road), the intrepid producer returned to his roots in the Pacific Northwest before recording the album, much of which came together over a single inspired weekend. Returning home provided Lipp with new inspirations for his blend of sampledelic funk and techno-inspired hip-hop beats. The mossy green woods and snowy mountains of the Pacific Northwest were essential to the ambiance and texture of the sounds. The result is a digital landscape filled with beautiful analog creations.
