Q: does this hotplate have enough power to boil>
A: It really gets super hot
Q: What type of plugin does this take? I want to know so I can maybe take this camping.
A: 120 volts & at least 800 wats & is polarized, be careful to always watch it when cooking especially with a cover.
Q: How long is the power cord?
A: The cord isn't very long. Depending on the counter it won't reach from the counter to a regular wall outlet. It's best if you have an outlet higher up by the countertop. I had to use an extension cord since mine was lower.
A: There's nothing in the manual, the box, or on this page mentioning this information. This was important to me, I planned on taking this on luxury camping trips (the only ones my wife will go on) and using this to cook from my portable batteries. The best answe that I can give you is on the bottom unit, the sticker reads: 120v, ac 60Hz, 1500w
Q: Does this Elite Gourmet EDB-302BF have UL and/or ETL compliance listing rating ?
A: The Elite Gourmet EDB-302BF is UL/ETL certified.
Q: You didn't answer the question of it running on a 15 amp breaker. Will it run on a 15 amp breaker?
A: to convert watts to amps divide watts by volts. 1500 watts divided by 120 volts = 12.5 amps so the answer is yes 15 amps is more than 12.5 amps so it should do just fine.
Q: How many degrees does it go today
A: 1500 total 750 per burner
Q: Do you need specific pot to cook on this like a precision cook top ?
A: It has a solid sirface so I would think you can use any kind of pot that you use on a regular stove. I do not think it is like the precision cook tops.
