Elmore D - L'Integrale Cazi Complete - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Limited Edition 2 CD Seldom has a single musician had a more lasting effect than Elmore James InchKing of the Slide Guitar.Inch That shangety-shangety bottleneck riff defined the sound after he debuted it on his seminal InchDust My Broom,Inch inspiring other Chicago slide aces and eventually spreading all around the globe as shaggy-haired blues-rockers fed it through mammoth amps. The mind-melting impact of Elmore's anguished vocals was every bit as intense as his crashing fretwork. First cut by James in August 1951, InchDust My BroomInch defined his signature style a swooping, full-octave opening figure on slide guitar. James left behind a raft of classic blues songs that influenced a legion of Chicago slide players and were a foundational influence for the 60's blues rock explosion. His influence went beyond that one riff, however, as he has been credited with practically inventing blues rock by virtue of energizing primal riffs with a raw, driving intensity. James left behind a raft of classic blues songs that include InchShake Your Money Maker,Inch InchTalk to Me Baby,Inch InchIt Hurts Me TooInch and InchThe Sky Is Crying.Inch His songs have been cut by the likes of the Allman Brothers Band, Canned Heat Fleetwood Mac and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. InchYou can hear his signature riff at least once a night from every slide guitarist working,Inch music historian Tony Glover has written, Inchbut no one has ever quite matched that vocal intensity, which transformed the lonesome moan of the Delta into a Chicago scream.Inch

Celebrating 20 years in the music biz is special enough. But to have been truly groundbreaking and still be around that long is even more reason to celebrate. September 2010 marks two whole decades since MATT BLACK and JON MORE (aka COLDCUT) first released music under the imprint of NINJA TUNE. To mark the occasion the tag has selected 2 discs worth of unreleased gems with a sprinkling of new cuts from the tag's future, taken from the family of BIG DADA, COUNTER & Ninja Tune.
