Elvis Presley - Rock Around the Clock - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

In the beginning, there was a new singer with an unusual name, Elvis Presley, who beat out the rhythm on an acoustic guitar, a nimble fingered lead guitarist, Scotty Moore, a down to earth drummer, D J Fontana and a mischievous bass player Bill Black and together they made music that changed popular culture. Opening with InchBlue Suede ShoesInch, the album starts with a power house performance that was to characterize most of the albums that followed. His second album, 'Elvis', is an ever stronger collection than the first record. Some of Elvis's best recordings are on this record, including the pleading InchLove Me,Inch the gorgeous InchFirst In Line.Inch Several legendary singles have been added as bonus tracks, including InchHound DogInch and InchLove Me Tender.Inch

Back in 1970 'On Stage' was an important step in Elvis' live album releases and his musical back-on-stage renaissance. Elvis showed that he could find great country-funk-rock songs like stunning versions of Tony Joe White's InchPolk Salad AnnieInch, John Fogerty's InchProud MaryInch and Neil Diamond's InchSweet CarolineInch while at the same time Elvis put his very soul on the line with an amazing Inch MeInch and InchLet It Be Me.Inch While the previous 'Elvis In Person' marvelously captured the stunning dynamite of a resurrected Elvis, 'In Person' is basically an album of old rock-n-roll hits, a stunning look-back with a slight look forward with InchSuspicious MindsInch and InchIn The GhettoInch. On both albums Elvis is accompanied by James Burton, The Imperials and The Sweet Inspirations.
