- Description: Senza Sapere Niente di Lei (1969, Luigi Comencini) is one of the first scores composed by Ennio Morricone for a Giallo film, just ahead of the great season of the cult Italian thriller genre forged by Dario Argento. The soundtrack perfectly mirrors the philosophy behind the Morricone Segreto series, not only for it's extraordinary dark-tinged and psychedelic vibes, but also because of the rarity of the score, which has surprisingly remained unreleased on vinyl (with the exception of two tracks included on a 1980 CAM anthology which is now pretty impossible to find). With InchSenza Sapere Niente di Lei,Inch Morricone composed one of his most dreamy and ethereal scores with a sweet and delicate theme unfolding in a lullaby to the rhythm of a waltz and and interpreted in multiple keys from lounge-jazz to experimental music. The final result is a sensual and suave sound that matches well with the quintessential morbid style of Giallo cinema and the film's plot During winter-time in Milan, a young lawyer (Philippe Leroy) meets a girl with a mysterious past (Paola Pitagora), falling in love with her and inevitably heading towards irreparable consequences. Around the Fur the follow-up to Deftones' passionate, aggressive Adrenaline, sees the California quartet expanding on the sheer rage of their earlier work, adding new, more sinister shades to their already extreme sound. The opening InchMy Own Summer (Shove It),Inch serves as an introduction to the album's sonic theme sinewy guitars and eerie whispers alternate with fast, violent crunch. Sepultura's Max Cavallero contributes guitar and vocals to InchHeadup,Inch while InchMXInch finds singer Chino trading off vocal lines with Annalynn Cunningham, (wife of Deftones' drummer Abe) in an acerbic take on the rock star mentality. Vocal acrobat Moreno attacks a variety of styles his breathy, psychotic recitations sound downright industrial, while the album's calmer, more brooding moments show his gift for haunting melody. Behind him, guitarist Stephen Carpenter's heavy wall of sound is astoundingly muscular, yet inspiringly agile. When Deftones' hellish fury hits full tilt, as it always does on this album, Moreno's voice erupts into screams which are best described as otherworldly, transforming this intense musical firestorm into a hurtling juggernaut of aggression.
