Ensemble Bachwerkvokal - Genug - SUPER-AUDIO CD [Super Audio CD (SACD)]

Baroque bad boy Francesc Valls shook the music world by not conforming to standard practice and using unconventional harmonies and gratuitous dissonance. Ensemble Bachwerkvokal led by Gordon Safari take this controversial Catalan composer from the time of Bach out of the archives and present his extraordinary works for the first time in this world premiere recording.

Shout for joy, praise & cheer! Gordon Safari has put together a collection of festive cantatas and motets by Johann Sebastian Bach for his ensemble of instrumental and vocal soloists recorded in the authentic setting of St. Thomas Church in Leipzig. BachWerkVokal is critically acclaimed as one of the most exciting new ensembles in the field of historical performance practice. The high quality of MDG's 2+2+2 recording technique reproduces the rich acoustics of Bach's original church, up into the heights of the vaulted ceiling.

Having already drawn national attention for her introspective songcraft and distinctive vocal power, Hayley Coupon is poised to reveal the true scope of her talent with her highly anticipated debut album, Wire and Rope. Set against a spare yet surprisingly rich backdrop provided by Grammy Award-winning producer Craig Street (Norah Jones, Cassandra Wilson) and a cast of studio all-stars, songs like the finely etched InchAll You GaveInch and the first single InchCurse MeInch bend diverse musical genres into new forms to suit the astonishing gravitational force of Coupon's widescreen vocals and equally potent lyrical voice. With Wire and Rope ready at last for it's long awaited arrival, Coupon plans to herald the album with a series of live shows in New York and Los Angeles, followed by a national tour accompanied by the multi-talented David Garza.
